i wouldnt be against kaberle coming back to play bottom pairing minutes.. his experience as a PMD could really help Rielly and Gardiner - Dozzer
By taking ice time away from them?
Time to move on. |

I would too. It'd really help them. Not only the good side, but all the hardships he could share too.
Maybe a 7th D?
He wants to be in Toronto. We need to develop Gards and rielly the best we can and experience is a huge part in that. |

Take time from FRANSON - CanadianBodmon
Franson is part of the Thornton trade.
Or the Stamkos trade.
I can't wait for PK Subban on the point... |

so disgusting, Kaberle? really people? last guy Id want to teach the youngsters, Id like the team to build winners on the back end, not losers.
Whats he gonna teach them? how to be soft? how to never body check or play physical? how never to shoot and only pass the puck back and forth with the other point man on the PP? How not to compete?
They both can already skate circles around him, a guy like Robidas is way better suited for the job |

I really liked Kaberle, and I wish him well. Some team could probably get good use out of him as a spare part.
But that team is not Toronto.
Interesting little tidbit in the article: says he is back living with his wife and kids in Toronto. As I recall, they had divorced or seperated.
Good luck to you, Kabs. - Atomic Wedgie
I liked him when he was a Leaf, but good lord his 20 or so games in Carolina were an unmitigated disaster.
He was brought in to help Faulk transition into the NHL full-time, and ended up hanging him out to dry.
Still by all accounts his teammates have loved him everywhere he's played, and he's a talented individual. Wish him well. |

Mats Sundin is the best player to wear the Leaf, so far.
As for Thornton, Nonis has repeatedly stated that he will not trade youth and picks for older players. And I can't imagine San Jose would want anything but picks and prospects for Thornton, so me thinks no deal. - BetterCallSaul
Maybe you start with Lupul and add |

POINTLESS. We need 3-4 years before we can be a true contender going how we are. Let the youth develop. If anything Lupul + for someone younger that plays his style. |

I agree. We're not going through just a physical change though, there's a huge "Maple Leafs curse" mentality we need to break as well.
Our defense needs more work + confidence in our team. That's something that has lacked for years and it will take a couple years for a shift in it. |
