I really liked Kaberle, and I wish him well. Some team could probably get good use out of him as a spare part.

I liked him when he was a Leaf, but good lord his 20 or so games in Carolina were an unmitigated disaster.

He was brought in to help Faulk transition into the NHL full-time, and ended up hanging him out to dry.

Still by all accounts his teammates have loved him everywhere he's played, and he's a talented individual. Wish him well.

Mats Sundin is the best player to wear the Leaf, so far. In my opinion.

As for Thornton, Nonis has repeatedly stated that he will not trade youth and picks for older players. And I can't imagine San Jose would want anything but picks and prospects for Thornton, so me thinks no deal.

Our defense needs more work + confidence in our team. That's something that has lacked for years and it will take a couple years for a shift in it.
