If the team told him to really focus on gaining weight all summer I doubt he'd have only gained 5lbs. You can gain that in 20 hours on the Byfuglien diet - TheNugeIsHuge
Healthy weight gain is 1 to 2 lbs per week |

No he was listed at 188 so 12 pounds - ystoil
No. The 188 was old info. He's slightly under 200 still. He says he's put on 5. |

I guess we'll see once camp starts and they weigh in. He should have easily put on 10 this summer. At 6" 4" he should be 220.
Hope Nuge comes in around 200 as well. |

not their styles. Marincin's just a lanky dude. I don't imagine he gets much bigger than 200 throughout his career.
185 might be an optimistic weight out of RNH |

Nuge was over 185 at the end of last season. He put on 9 lbs during the season and said he wanted to put on 10 more in the off season.
He'll be at least 195 coming into camp.
Marincin will fill out. Chara wasnt always 255. He was a skinny kid when drafted as well. And recall when Eakins had Chara take Marty under his wing a bit Eakins said it was mostly about putting in the work that Chara did OFF the ice. |

I have a hick wedding to go to, followed by a buddy's "garden party" reception for the wedding they had in July in Victoria. And I'm driving everywhere so I can't drink.
Where do you work? We can swap places |

WTF do you people know about a person's weight, and what they "should get to" when you know (frank) all about the dudes genetics, health history, etc, etc, etc. A guy could get to 200, or could top out at 250. He shouldn't "be" at any weight specifically, other than one his body and himself is comfortable at. It's not weight alone that makes a guy tough to beat, has to be functionally strong, as well as able to position himself well, and have balance. We aren't talking about a guy like Arco"AHL"bello who is pretty much a midget |

If he magically accepts the trade. He would push u to playoffs for sure. You would arguably have one of the best 1st and 2nd lines in the nhl. With best goalie you had in long time. The only thing holding u back is poor depth on 3rd and 4th lines and terrible defense. If you add a number one/two defensemen like myers, yandle, or dustin buff it could push you head of teams like Stars and Sharks. - hanleyaj

I think they were suggesting that they'd want him at 215. It'd be ideal if he could get there. |

He's looks to be of a lankier build so somewhere around 205-210lbs seems like an attainable goal for him to hit in his career. That way he isn't sacrificing too much of his mobility nor is he easily out-muscled.
What I think Rutts was (not so succinctly) getting at, was that functionality is key. |

ya I don't see him filling out to 220, ever really.
just like because Tyler Myers is 6'8 doesn't mean he's gonna play at 260. Marincin's a lanky guy, I imagine 6'4 200-205 will be where he plays at. Nothing wrong with that. |

Exactly. It's not like he was struggling to defend against bigger guys last year despite playing between 188 and 195. |
