If Thornton comes to Edmonton, leads the team to the playoffs, then barfs all over himself in the postseason (again) I'll be certain the hockey gods have it in for me. Here's a stat for those who feel Thornton can do no wrong:

12 games, 1 goal, 0 assists, 1 point, -14 plus-minus

That's Thornton's stat line for the 12 games he's played in which his team has been eliminated from the playoffs since 2002. He's an exceptional regular season player and future HOFer, but the exact opposite of clutch.
