Really? MacA on the top line? I don't know the team well enough to comment if someone is much better there or not but MacA is 2nd liner at best.

Well, his goal total would have been 3rd on the Leafs, and the following Leaf forwards had a better plus minus ________________ errr, nobody, so I guess that means the Leafs have plenty of 3rd and 4th liners on lines one and two.

And how are those statues of the Leaf golden stars going.....are the Aki Berg and Eddie Shack ready?Have they poured copper for Doug Favell? Why I think every Leaf who won 12 or more playoff games in one season with the Leafs deserves a statue, like, ummmmmm........hey wasn't pyramid power great?

Other than the Yashin for 2nd overall (Spezza) and Chara, the Turris trade was the biggest steal in Senators franchise history.

I would even go as far as to say it's probably one of the top 5 'steals' in the NHL in the past decade.

Mac is right. Turris can play any role and with any type of player. He really is just that good. Mac got the money he did directly because of playing with Kyle Turris.

The only knock on Turris is that he is a bit soft and can get pushed off the puck a bit too easy at times. Hopefully, he gets stronger as he gets older.

I remember when we traded for him, Pierre McGuire went on Ottawa radio and was shocked. He told Sens fans that this was going to go down as a massive steal. Not a huge fan of the man, but was he ever right.

Say what you will about Bryan Murray and some of the poor trades he has made (Bishop as a prime example), the man has been able to turn over the entire Sens roster (outside Phillips and Neil) without missing the playoffs two years in a row during that span. He also did it without getting a top 5 draft pick over that time.

Not only that, but he has massive budget restraints, and a small market that struggles to attract quality free agents, to go along with it.

The man is easily a top 5 GM in the NHL.

What? Everyone is writing Cowen off already! I think after EK he is going to be our best Dman this year, he's been his teams best Dman on every team he's played for, let's give him a chance to redeem himself, his rookie season everyone was saying he's the next Darien Hatcher and now everyone thinks he's the next Alex Daigle. There's lots to be positive about with him, he's 23 years old. I also like his attitude, he's not defeatist - he's got a winners attitude.

yep, thats what the Islanders thought of Chara too ..... I'm not saying that Cowen is going to be as good as Chara, but defensemen take longer to develop than fowards and big defensemen take longer still
