Ironically, the message board breaks on the day Bill details Mikael Renberg's strange injury history.

He was found sitting on a park bench eying little girls with bad intent.

What was all this hype about this Little League team from Philly with this girl?
On the cover of Sports Illustrated, signing autographs...??

I tuned in for about 15 mins last night and what I saw reminded me of an old cartoon.

Manager of Hockey Analytics Ian Anderson

So the Flyers hired Jethro Tull to do some fancy stats.

let's hope he's not thick as a brick and the team goes skating away on the thin ice of a new day.

They hype was about the first-ever team from Philadelphia to play in the Little League World Series, and they had the first girl to ever throw a complete game shutout in a LLWS game. I don't know what's not to get.

Edzo Snider bucks going to bail out Holmgren again.

I wonder what % of the population can make 20+ million dollar mistakes and get promoted.

I'd rather trade him and eat 50% of his salary than buy him out. Cheaper in the short- and long-term.

First girl to win a LLWS game, let alone a complete game SO.

You probably have to lose an asset (a draft pick) to be able to trade Vinny -- even if you retained 50% of his salary.

If it's a good pick or prospect, I'd rather just buy him out.

I remember watching the Legion of Doom line and thinking that Renberg was doing so many great things with the puck and skill-wise looked like another Lindros without the mean streak. I think he was my favorite Doom member and I was always frustrated when he seemed to be out so much.
- flyler

Its like you are describing lindros to me....

I wish we could have a do over with those LOD teams. They were sooo fun to watch.

I'd rather show the player some respect and play him. If he doesn't play well, re-evaluate next summer.

The word on the street was that Nashville would have taken him, but wanted the Flyers to retain 50% which they weren't willing to do.

Well, yes: they cannot buy him out at this point until next summer.

I'm just saying, if it's buy him out or trade him at 50%, trading him makes more sense (assuming no other assets move). Those were the 2 options presented.

Can anyone explain to me the logic or idea behind what the Sharks are doing with Thornton and Marleau?

I can't find any rational idea why they would do this.
