Fransy makes $50k more a year than Leddy. That move wouldn't shed any salary for them.

Oduya is exactly what isles need. he was instrumental to the Hawks 30-0 start two season ago. he is a starter or team Sweden. he would be our best DEFENSIVE DMAN right now.

he could be replacement for Viznosky when he is no show this season.

And thats why chicago wants to keep him. Theyre going to do what they can to hold onto him.

my buddy big hawks fan, and he said actually they looking to unload him. Unlike the isles that wait still guy wont resign, they are looking to move him for assets since they don't plan on keeping him

why Echiefs you disagree?

Think about it 2 season ago, Matt Moulson was viewed in most NHL eyes at consistent 30 goal Scorer. We had Nino after great 1st half season waiting for his chance with big boys after proven it in AHL in 1st half.
Moulson would have easily returned us a solid DMAN without haven't to give up any of our future.
We then would have had Nino Tavares KO, We wouldn't be looking for LW to play with JT and we wouldnt be trying to trade prospects for a dman.

So why call me expert, I merely saying Hawks are experts. They know Oduya is due for new contract and they wont have the cap to sign him. So trade now, get something. pretty smart no? I guess that's why they have won 2 cups recently and actually are view by Vegas as the favorite to win this year again.

You are confusing me with someone else. I have never liked Moulson. one dimensional hockey players aren't my thing. Id take a disappointing Bailey over a Goal hanger Moulson anyday.

I actually thought Trade for Vanek was good. I was only critical that we waited too long to trade once we realized he was not going to resign.

The joke was referring to a Hawks fan having greater knowledge of the Oduya situation, or lack thereof. Being a fan of a team does not make you an expert on the said team.

Moulson was good for the team. I'm not sad to see him go because of what it would've taken to resign him, but he contributed. Bailey is invisible.

my bad about you liking/not liking the moulson deal....

my point still stands though that moulson, steit, vanek, amac, bouchard, regin can all attest to the fact that isles dont just sit around when it comes to players they dont plan on resigning; said players were all moved for assets.

actually very true on STREIT and AMAC - and both got great returns.

I think a GM has to do that more often. that's how you build a winning franchise. Moulson may of got his payday but im sure he not happy he has to commute from CT to BUFFALO.

why b/c Moulson was older when he finally made the NHL. Bailey could break out this year and all the prior years would be forgotten. lets leave it at that.

I don't buy the BS on this board of people saying They didn't think KO was bust b/c effort was there.

But enough about the past fellows. One thing is true, we all are READY FOR SOME HOCKEY. Lets GO ISLES.

that's the exact thing I was saying with okposo when he was having the crappy regular season. You may not believe it, but if you find a way to go back and look at it you'll see it. I did not want him moved.

Bailey is an entirely different animal. If you can get him to actually play with passion and for 60 minutes, he might have a shot. Playing part time like he does yields unimpressive results. No effort, no drive, no results. Move him.

I dont care what age Moulson started getting it done, he was getting it done... he was a legit first line wing, he was part of a top 5 line in the whole NHL. His defensive lapses aside, he put up points to compensate for his defensive short comings.
Bailey has been throughout the lineup, not excelling at any line or position. How you can say you would take a guy not getting it done at the bottom of the roster, over a guy getting it done on the first line.. because the slacker might just get it one day.. is silly.

For me, when I compare forwards one to one, I’d look at where I’d expect them to play on the roster. Moulson was a top six forward, who could play on the top line with JT (which worked well due to JT) I don’t see Moulson as a legit top six without having a set up man playing with him, but he was vastly more productive than Bailey. If you gave me the choice between the two and said one had to play with JT on the top line, Bailey never enters the conversation for me.

This does not mean I wanted Moulson back, it’s how I’m comparing the two players. Bailey is not a top line forward on any team.

I dont want MM back either.. but the comment was " Id take a disappointing Bailey over a Goal hanger Moulson anyday." that just doesn't make any sense.
