Off topic, but with Ottawa's money problems, can you see us making a pitch for Bobby Ryan either before the season or at the deadline if were in it? Would be perfect wing for KO and JT. It would cost a lot but we have so many forwards and prospects.
- jwbadlands

if any assets/prospects are being traded its going to be for a dman. a forward would not get max value

That won't be the top 4 D-man we're hoping for.
- JimmyP

The market is way to high for a top 4 d-man. It will cost way too much to get a true top 4 such as strome, nelson and pick. We do have too many forward but, injuries will happen and now we have options in sitting guys when no performing....depth is very important. I think solid quality veteran d-man would do. Boyle would have been perfect. Hopefully the young guys will step up this year but, can't rely on that.....so we do need to hit a homerun like Adrian Aucoin type dman.

So what you're saying is a top 4 will cost two developed first rounders one of which was top 5 and both of which are looking like legitimate top 6 forwards plus another pick?

you can only carry so many forwards..they are over the roster right now..so unless they send down guys who don't have to clear waivers or waive the likes of carkner, boulton...moves need to be made

That may put Snow at a small disadvantage. Other GMs know the Isles roster is out of balance. Do you think there will be a trade for a D-man before training camp? Before the season starts?

It COULD cost that much if you're the hard-up buyer. What Garth needs to find is the desperate seller.

Not really bc the Isles wouldn't mind waiving the likes of Carkner, Boulton, McDonald, etc, plus don't think teams would even claim them......

According to Hawks blogger JJ, seems the isles are in on Leddy but to me doesn't make sense bc he's an O-dman and isles need D-dman. Plus I wouldn't give up anything major knowing they need cap relief........ U heard/have any insight to this?

According to JJ the hawks are inclined to keep Oduya plus heard he's willing to sign a long term cap friendly deal.....

They've been talking about it for a while now. Hawk fans seem to think leddy is worth nielsen and a pick but have been talking about getting rid of him from the middle of last season on. Usual bs
