They've already pulled the Trojan horse past the gates.

I seriously doubt the new owners could build a new arena around the block from the garden if they wanted to. Silly debate because they are in BK for the next 25 years

Dan Petriw,

You said it. This is the best summer the Isles have had it decades. Halak, Dal Colle, Ho-Sang, a legit backup goalie, Grabovski, Kulemin, a couple of low-risk fliers taken on Conacher and Brennan, and finally, new ownership!

Who could have predicted all of this happening just 5 months ago after Garth seemed to completely botch his little Vanek auction and it looked like it was the S.O.S.?

I'm still waiting on another defenseman to help push us toward the playoff picture. I'm happy with what's happened this summer but we still need that piece. We're significantly improved, but I still have a lot of doubt when it comes to our d. Plenty of time left for a move, so I'm waiting.

Yep. I don't get why this keeps coming up. It's a done deal.

From the last blog

Anybody else find it interesting that Botta has been silent on twitter the last couple of weeks? I know he was pumping Barroway big time but him not commenting on any of this craziness the last few weeks is kind of weird

- Vukota

He's getting his stomach pumped...

All that work on Borroway...

He was SO close to getting his credentials back!!

We need to have the entire team spending the summer with JT and his trainer.

great article.

this offseason was fantastic even before yesterday happened; that was just the cherry on top. having said that, yesterdays move doesnt help the on ice product, garth still needs to find a top 4 dman. and yes, as ive said all along, i think thatll happen before opening night.

Still curious to see what happens with the Barroway lawsuit. The $10M may now be a drop in the bucket for Wang, assuming Ledecky and Malkin paid Wang's "new" asking price. But Barroway was also suing for the right to buy the team at the originally-agreed-upon price. If the court finds in favor of Barroway on that matter then things will certainly get interesting.

JT might be the best player in the NHL at making himself better. He's gonna have a very long and successful career because of that. Can't wait for Ryan Wilson to do the Lockout season Hart analytics so we can see what a sham it was that Ovi beat JT.

Yes we need another D-men no argument there....

But changing the culture of this team can do wonders.. if these players now feel like they have something to play for, if these players buy into the direction of the franchise.. it helps the on ice product considerably.

No way of knowing without actually reading the lease, though.

Let's just speculate anyway. Makes complete sense.

Dan, I agree with everything you wrote. I'm absolutely giddy for the first time in ages.

I've said for years, the public's and the sport's perception of this franchise changes the day Wang sells. I wish it were immediately, but I'll take this every day of the week

Remember, Wayne Gretzky once referred to the Devils as a Mickey Mouse organization and look where they went afterward.

i guess...i cant imagine the level of play is significantly different regardless of who is writing the check but i do agree that it certainly shouldnt hurt the teams aura.

Do you really see a trade happening after training camp begins? I hope I'm wrong, but I think the current D-men are it.
