He didn't whine or do anything wrong this entire process. He played 4 years in the NCAA and a perk of that is being able to sign with any team he wants. He exercised his right. If he wanted an easy road to the NHL he would've signed with his brother in Florida or in Calgary but it came down to 3 of the deepest teams (and therefore hardest teams to crack the lineup in). He gives no facks about playing time. He just didn't want to sign with Chicago.

May I suggest Ginkoba?

Eriksson's bounce back ability, or lack there of, is going to be huge for the Bruins this season.

If he does bounce back, Boston's top six will be fine, but if he doesn't, Iginla's loss is going to be felt in the lineup.

I don't think this argument is based in reality.

Boston was second in scoring in the NHL last year, I agree that Iggy was a help but the line of Krejic and Lucic......you could literally put almost anyone on there and they will put up 20 goals.

So even if we score 20 less goals this year, we are still a scoring machine.
AND that's without the obvious that Ericksson will be MUCH better.

Everyone assume for instance that smith will continue to grow and put up better umbels than last year.......I think the odds say yes, BUT one good year doesn't justify assuming he will be a stud.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Ericksson has have a pretty consistent 30 goals a year for many years in Dallas other than the lockout and TWO concussions last year.

The safest guess would be that Ericksson should put up 30 goals this year. That's more in line with history of the two players.

The Hawks fans stopped selling out the Stadium/UC when they FINALLY stopped supporting an owner who screwed the fan base on multiple occasions. This was over the span of about 5 years. Note: The Hawks had many other lean years when they sold out the building.

Its apples and oranges anyway. The Bridgeport sound tigers would sell out if they played at the garden.

Good pick up by the Rangers to snag some talented young blood. I'm still confused by his decision, though. The Rangers have a pretty solid top nine, and if he wants to play now, it's going to be difficult for him to find a spot.

Your fan base also didn't:

- Have an owner charge fans to watch home games.

- Have an owner who simply would not sign star players and let them leave or trade them... consistently.

- Have an owner who destroyed one of the most talented/young rosters in the NHL.

There are other aspects but these are three major ones.

Like I said - this was the only period of time when Hawk fans didn't support the team.
