For as bad as the Islanders have been the last 10 years the Rangers have more home grown Talent in the NHL.

Not sure how you can say they have nothing in the prospect department.

They have players that have come up through the ranks but they don't have much left in the farm now. Listen, I'm not throwing stones i actually think Sather has done a good job but you guys didn't have a first rounder this past draft and you won't have one next year barring any trades to acquire one so getting Hayes is a real good move IMO. If he doesn't work out you lose nothing.

There he is. His seat was empty at the Garden that night.

Are you saying in the last 10 years you have more home grown players in the NHL then the Islanders or right Now?

Reinhart, Hosang, Colberg and dacolle are pretty respected but I get the point. They had a few enormous whiffs, bailey and niƱo, and now anybody who is good has made their roster. A potential top pairing dman and a potential top end winger. Not horrible. The big knock is they traded their 1st and 2nd in 2015 for a rental.

1 enormous step backwards followed by 2 steps foward. That is the islanders way.

The more I think about it the more this post is wrong. I would like to see the data on this because I'll pretty much bet its the other way around

It's probably close with us having one or two players more. I don't have the patience to figure it out today

Buffalos way was mediocrity. be good enough to make the playoffs and never get to draft dominant players. We had to break that cycle.

After a quick, rushed look back at the last 10 years and the numbers might be off by one or two because it was a quick once through but the Rangers currently have 12 draft picks playing in the NHL right now and the Islanders have 18, that's a once through and it includes guys who have at least played one game in the NHL. again might be off by one or two

Sather has had a fantastic summer, all things considered. Every team in the league wanted this guy and EK, who never listed the Flyers being involved, now admits they made a huge push at the end to sign him. Many of the losers now say he is a cancer, has warts, etc. He turned down an offer to play with Crosby or Malkin, or his home team Boston. Deal with it. The Rangers just got stronger and bigger.

not surprising he signed with the rangers, he wants a chance to make the team and win the cup, clearly not happening in chicago. which also makes sense since i have a source that told me that several bottom feeding teams such as buffalo, ottawa, florida etc were interested but the feeling wasn't mutual. pretty much came down to the few legit contenders in the east (pittsburgh, boston, toronto, new york etc).

I have seen Hayes at the Hawks prospects camp... Good luck with that. I am more excited about our 54th pick next June.
