I don't think it was jealousy at all. The comments may not have come from the right person due to Kovalev playing like he was playing street hockey all his career. There is truth in what he said about Subban. As good as he is offensively, he is just as bad in his own end. Outside of Montreal fans I would say the majority of the hockey world is still shaking their heads at the Subban deal. - RobFlyers#1
Incorrect. If Subban hit the market your Flyers would be among the highest bidding teams on a stupid amount of money 7 year deal. Don't kid yourself. He was the Habs best player in the playoffs and second best in the reg season and it's been that way since he's been on the team. He's a star player and got his star money because everyone knows the tv deal and inflation is going to keep the cap on the rise for at least the next 3-4 years. That's why Kane and toews got their cash, that's why Lundqvist at his age got 8.5. Superstars rarely hit the open market and when they do teams go bananas (hi there minnesota!) |

Markov is now a Canadian citizen - Pea-Brain
I know. I just don't think he wants that. Subban and Gallagher would love that responsibility and use it as motivation to push even harder and it sets a good example for teammates in that you have to work hard and pay the price all the time. IMO. |
