2 way ahl- nhl deal for Austin Feytn ?

He has 50-60 games total in each minor league the past two years and has done well at the ECHL level at PPG, not sold on him in the AHL at .5 PPG let alone the NHL

Yeah, probably not enough. But at the same time I think they were looking to move him all summer and couldn't get a deal done. Maybe the price comes down a little? The stripping of the A speaks volumes of what they think of him moving forward if you ask me.

I really dislike stripping the letters from those guys. But, you may be right that Marleau's percieved value in SJ has dropped. I think the whole "earn your letter back" thing is petty.

Fytin's probably just an AHL guy, maybe they see him as a call up to be a plug in in case of injury.

The Phantoms announcer has said in the tweets which I finally saw a few minute ago that most of the players will be under NHL contracts on the Phantoms. There are 8 players on AHL contracts including Powe, many of whom are slated to be in the ECHL.

I wish there was a central clearing house for all Flyers & affiliate transactions with clearly stated contracts instead of 3 teams news releases and fishing on capgeek.

Chances are, if you haven't seen much of the dude in the NHL, he's a Phantoms signing.

The issue is contracts slots and recalling the player. In the case of Powe, he can sign with any NHL team and leave the Phantoms. Guys like Jones and Fyten, are Flyers property and can only be recalled by the Flyers.

They take up contract slots, while Powe doesn't.

It's an AHL/ECHL two-way deal.

Thornton and Marleau stripped of captaincies. Sharks heading into camp with no players wearing letters.

Wow. That locker room must be a ton of fun.

This is the second time the Sharks have done this since striping Marleau and handing the "C" to Thornton.

Imagine if the Flyers had waited a little longer and pulled off a Hartnell+ for Marleau deal.

Imagine if the Flyers had waited for Umberger to get bought out and his stupid contract didn't exist anymore.

Two summers from now Voracek, Couturier, Raffl Grossmann, Coburn and the Schenn brothers will all need new deals. I think it's obvious Grossmann won't be back but would it be a bold statement on my part to believe Raffl and Coburn will also be out? I'm pretty convinced Voracek, Couturier and the Schenn brothers should be wanted back. In two summers from now I'm assuming at least Morin should be ready and Laughton should be ready for a role that edges Raffl out. This is only anaassumption that Umberger and Lecavalier are still here.

Is this a question, a midsentence ramble or a never ending fortune cookie? Extremely random.
