A single league source says it's safe to assume this sale was "the other deal" mentioned in the Barroway lawsuit. Ballpark $548m. #Isles

I knew the team was getting sold and I knew it'd be soon. Two more years of him being a majority owner is not good bcs this is our next two years management for better or worse. Hopefully its for better.

Of course you did

this might be a better deal for everyone involved and maybe that is why Wang pulled the trigger on this deal

Snow is officially on the clock. Which means Cappy's leash just got a little tighter. Wang is getting all his money back and then some in the next 2 years, I can't see them cheaping out on a new coach going forward once Cappy shat's the bed

I agree Vukota! Have to think Garth will pull out all the stops now that the pressure is really on.

why is this a doozy? this is same man that took Sunjay - Co-Owner of Isles at first and promoted him to CEO of Computer Associates, only to make him a fall guy and he went to prison.

So tell me how minority ownership would have any bearing on Wang can do. Do you understand what Minority ownership means? you technically can share in profits but have no say in decisions.

You think Wang wont hose these guys two years from now? what can say if he says, I don't want to Sell. or better yet. My new price to buy me out is 500MM.

- Spartiarti

The price is agreed upon right now..once the sale goes through you can't change the deal...

Yes sir. I like the team now especially if they add a D-man before the year starts. Season can't start soon enough

I need to read more about the two new owners, I had fears barroway was only going to have enough cash to run the team at the floor. If anyone has any info about these two (net worth or other info) throw it up here so we can have a look.

I'm assuming wang is staying on for two more years to be able to deal with the transition from the old to the new building as he's the one that made that deal. I would expect the two buying the team to have input on the management positions and payroll, with wang holding the hammer. we may see more changes than we anticipate although those may not begin until next season

You post a lot of doozy's but this takes the cake. Do you go through the rest of your every day life waiting for the worst to happen?

"Ledecky was chairman of Lincoln Holdings from 1999-2001, which held interests in the Caps and the NBA's Washington Wizards. Malkin is chairman of UK-based Value Retail, a syndicator of high-end European retail outlets."

Malkin & his dad own the retail outlets and in 2011 they cleared 1.6 billion in sales, so I'm assuming the guys sleeps in beds made out of money Who know's what he is worth now

I think we all knew it'd be within the next couple years. It became a matter of who it was going to be sold too thats about it.

I'd hope so. I hope people from around the league buy into wanting to work here. Thats the problem. Has been for a while. Maybe this means a push for a decent salaried d man to start the season. Thatd make me more of a believer.
