Seriously whatever happened to DP? He liked disappeared since he was let go - kasperrko
Had a try out with the Hurricanes AHL team, didn't work out.. he stayed healthy for the try out (8 games or so), but he was not good at all. Hasn't done anything as far as i know since.

And you know this for certain? we are talking about Charles Wang here. - Spartiarti
When the contract is approved by the BOG, we'll be talking about a written contract with specific provisions. At that point, it won't matter what else Wang wants, irrespective of his perceived omnipotent malevolence. |

Just asking... how did u become a Hawks fan living & stuff here???? - Ur Not Me
My uncle was a trader in Chicago and was well connected to all the Chicago teams and he took me to my first ever hockey game at the old Stadium back in the early 80's, met some of the players and legends including Mikita and Hull at a party, got littered with team stuff and the rest is history. |

A building draws dollars with which one can pay good players. That's why you need a building. A full Nassau Coliseum at bargain basement payroll is still a financial loss, which is why Nassau should have replaced and imploded it 20 years ago. - dcb1
Agreed. As I said, creates new revenue streams which can be pumped back into the team. |

Wang can throw himself and the floor and cry like a 5 year old and it will not matter. |

The New York Islanders announced today that a group led by former Washington Capitals co-owner Jon Ledecky and London based investor Scott Malkin has reached a definitive agreement, subject to NHL approval, to purchase a substantial minority interest in the team. Under the terms of the agreement, Charles Wang will continue as majority shareholder and Governor of the Islanders, with the Ledecky/Malkin group transitioning to majority owner in two years.
2 more years, boys...:-) |

Who cares if its 60/40 as long as wang doesn't have any say in operations. Plus I think it will be more like 80/20 |

Look at it this way. Two days ago would you be happy if somebody told you Wang won't be making anymore decisions two years from now? Plus I'm sure going forward these two guys will be in his ear if something wild and crazy is being drummed up in that loony's head |

I knew the team was getting sold and I knew it'd be soon. Two more years of him being a majority owner is not good bcs this is our next two years management for better or worse. Hopefully its for better. |
