The longer last season went on the more Brycen Martin looked like Jamie McBain. That's not really a compliment considering the other young draft eligible defenseman on the tem looked like Sergei Zubov. - BINGO!

Just saying that based on watching him for 36 games last season, he peaked somewhere around november and then progressively made more and more mistakes. Could have just been fatigue or (the entire team started to slow down at that point) but it was pretty noticeable, anyway. I think if he puts more bulk on his frame. |

Just because the 6-10 is more interesting, doesn't make it more conversational. |

Pretty jealous of this prospect pool. Ristolainen looks like a real gem. I would have been happy with him or Zadorov. You (frank)ers got both. |

As we always have said in the past ...Sucks to be a Leafs fan. Any time time you wanna switch teams. We will guide you through the process .....Bring your own Lube. as it will not be supplied and can be quite uncomfortable without it . |

Does anybody see the sabres trying deslaurier back at defense next season. The kings converted him to foward. I think buffalo would benefit more having him as a 6th dman than a 4th liner. At 230 lbs he is an intimidating man and would probably be our physically strongest dman.

The best part about this is he can play some shifts up if needed to so we could dress 7 dmen a night. |

Why does everyone always forget Benoit is on this team. Yeah he's a bottom pairing defender, but at the price, the guy is gold. |

Agreed, but it might be that a lot of us (myself included) have already turned him into a draft pick |

i think having him as a 4th line player is a good position for a player of his size and defensive responsibility.. he also could fall back to defense in the future if players forget to clean their equipment...
i would prefer to keep him at forward for now |

nice work. With such a perceived glut of prospect talent, I wonder if any will become permanent AHL fodder. |

Thoughts on the draft lottery odds changing? Love how Murray just openly admitted to tank nation with this quote:
“You know who you’re affecting, that’s not fair,” said Murray. |

It seems pretty suspect that the NHL choose to change the odds so quickly.
The worst place team only had a 25% chance of winning the lottery, which is pretty low in my opinion. Further reducing the odds to 20% seems unnecessary.
I haven't looked back at the previous lotteries, but how often has the worst team ended up with the first overall pick? Off hand I can recall the Panthers, Oilers and Avalanche all winning the lottery even though they weren't the worst team that year.
I like the idea of putting the top three picks up for grabs in the lottery. I think teams will find that a much bigger tanking deterrent. And from a Sabres perspective, at least that change doesn't take effect until the 2016 draft. Dodged a bullet there. |
