I like Hansen in the bottom 6 a lot. Much prefer letting Higgins go. He has a Limited NTC as per capgeek.... anyone know the specifics?
- noisewater

I think they are both excellent 3rd liners, they will be great mentors for Vey/Horvat on the 3rd line or as a shutdown line with Richardson/Matthias, I don't really see the point in moving either at this point unless the return is decent and a kid is ready.

I don't think the specifics are public knowledge, would be nice if capgeek had access to that information. I would imagine it's a list of 10 teams he won't waive too.

I'd rather we gathered as many assets as we can for both Higgins and Hansen. Bring on the youth!

On a separate note, I just heard that there may be an out-of-court-settlement imminent with respect to the Todd Bertuzzi/Steve Moore incident/litigation. Seems like things have moved forward quite a bit and all indications point to a possible September resolution.

I imagine there is some pressure from the NHL to get this dealt outside of the courts and really don't want the public privy to some of the details.

Agreed. It would make the most sense.

Fair enough... homelessness isn't an epidemic in Canada anyways. The numbers are small
- kneughter

Homelessness isn't but poverty is rampant. IMO the government isn't doing enough. These neoliberal policies are killing the welfare system, and no one seems to give a poop.

If they're gonna be traded it will be close to the deadline, where there values will be as high as possible.

I'd like for them to keep Hansen though.

Can't say I like the value but I guess it opens up a spot for Horvat. I'm surprised you like Burmistrov, with him peacing out to the KHL and not being a good ol Canadian boy and all.
- belcherbd

To be truthful, I don't blame anyone for wanting out of Winnipeg . He is a talented forward.

this may sound silly but Im thinking if the new coach and players click within the first 2 and a half months and start rolling we may be the team nobody wants to face. Massive underdogs with not as much pressure as before. If the twins can get 70 again vrbata burr bonino danny 20 goals which isn't incredibly crazy, our d not get tired and pressured so much we have a solid team. The D and Goaltending is fine we just need goals I think we may surprise a lot of people

I don't think Benning is in any rush to trade them. But come training camp and a team may need to shed a bit larger salary, I could see them as part of a trade.

It is just with limited ntc's and such, it is reserving spots for them and limiting opportunity for the youth.

I do like them both on the team, but I don't think the team needs them both. Just hate seeing either in the top6. But I have to admit, Higgins has looked good in stretches, but doesn't necessarily have the consistency/skill to put points up every night.

Uggg. Im curious to see how much Bertuzzi is going to have to buck up. He likely deserves whats coming to him. But being I guy I admired so much growing up, I hope its not too harsh.

New blog is up, with some links on the Bertuzzi case.

Rick Westhead's Twitter feed is especially interesting, focusing on reasons for the possible snag and speculating on the undisclosed amount of the settlement.
