Well they will add TT and Morin
- mrpaulish

I will be interested to see what Morin can bring on a regular basis. How physical will be actually be?

If Morin played instead of Bollig the Hawks beat the Kings , no doubt about it .

And JJ , re size .... Im still feeling a deal with the Isles with the main pieces being Leddy and Matt Martin .

Would be a great step towards Size and Cap benefits for the Hawks .

I don't think Morin or Regin playing over Bollig would have made a difference against the Kings. They'd still be playing with Handzus and Versteeg who were totally done.

Adding some muscle would be nice, but does it have to be done at forward? Can we not move Leddy or Rozsival and replace them with a cheaper physical defenseman?

Well if he pans out, it wont effect the Hawks at all. It's not like the Rangers will be in the SC Final again

Hey Vinny,
That is exactly who I would want I know it's a pipe dream. I forgot his first name but I don't think Columbus would let him go

Playing on the third line isn't viable? Or that little stretch of play where Ben Smith actually got some ice time, is sufficient enough for Hawks fans to think he is a lock to make the opening night roster?
- MidnightMarauder

So apparently Rangers fans think K.Hayes could have made the opening night roster on the third line and Ben Smith isnt a lock to make the team either...

The Rangers lost alot this offseason. I can see where the fan base is happy to get a big guy with an upside for free. They basically have to hope he is a top 6 guy beacause the team is full of if's

Is True Grit still alive? I miss the way him and UnnamedSource used to go at it. Always kept it interesting during times like these where theres basically no news to be reported and even the rumors are few and far between and even when they come, they are not really anything anyway.

I'm just bored. Need some entertainment

I am around, thanks for noticing. Just waiting for something to talk about.

Honestly, he's another Pirri

on a good team, top 6 or bust

Sure, he fits on a team of doorknobs like Florida, but no real playoff contender is going to have Pirri in their bottom 6 and he isnt good enough to be in the top 6

Based upon?

40 + point pace with the team leading the NHL at the time of his demotion?

A Plus 6....

An accessory when Kane played his best hockey of the season?

I do not disagree that he is not a bottom 6 guy, but lets not let myth and legend supersede what actually occurred on the ice. With that said, surpised the Rangers did not scoop up Handzuis to replace Richards and augment the Rangers offense.

Pirri had no consistency in the top 6. He played well in chunks but the reality is he was just a better option on offense over Hadnzus. Period

He went pointless in his last 12 games with Chicago, and with the offense they had all around him, thats not a great sign for someone who led the AHL in scoring the previous season. Kids got a great shot no doubt, but his vision just didnt really impress anyone, he doesnt skate that well, and he clearly blows in his own end.

He could be a suitable 2C on a bad team, sure, but not on a good one

Yup.

I wonder if this will ever become an issue for the league. I personally don't think it would be they nixed the ability to bury contracts in the AHL or Europe (i.e. Huet) and implements rules to avoid the Hossa and Luongo type deals.

In situations like this the richer clubs can afford to pay guys like Leighton bigger AHL contracts. Stan did something similar with Thor last season. Cash strapped teams won't be able to compete for players like this. I'm not complaining, but the league has done some stupid things in the past to level the playing field (cap wise) so I wonder if they'd ever take notice of this?
