Out of an abundance of respect for our Canadian friends, no self respecting one of "thy sons " would be caught dead with a 6 pack of Old Milwaukee.
- DirkGraham

Old Milwaukee, a cheap staple when I wore a younger man's clothes, those were the days I enjoyed a heavy yeast taste in my beer.

25 years ago I stayed in Toronto and went bar hopping a few nights and was suprised to see the locals drinking Blatz. So much for self respect.

You guys are trashing all the Milwaukee beers, Blatz was another of my favorites when 18 in Wisconsin.

One last one on the Kevin Hayes saga, I am struggling to even up the following points;

1. We have no real top 6 prospects

2. Kevin Hayes is top 6 prospect for everyone else

- vabeachbear

The sky is not falling as far as blue chip prospects. Dahlbeck will probably win a regular spot on defense. The biggest obstacle IMHO preventing this to happen sooner rather than later is Q's propensity to stubbornly turn to veterans. With Rosy slower & Brookbank presently not returning, Dahlbeck is the least turn over prone choice.

Runblad has the consistency & turnover factors to alleviate in Q's mind, and while this prospect appears to be a fit for the style Chicago needs, he is needing to prove himself. The preseason is, indeed, a short period-of-time to show enough good and minimalize the bad in his performance.

There may need to be either Oduya or Leddy gone or an injury, though, before a Dahlbeck receives regular amount of playing time (TOI).

The most important point about prospects for next season, however, might prove to be if any number of them advance enough in their development whereas they could be called upon to perform adequately as bottom line players. That would apply toward the forwards; on defense perhaps after Runblad and Dahlbeck the timing could be premature for Johns.

Players like Johns, TT, Hartman will become solid main contributers eventually as far as I see. I would bet that a couple of other Icehogs would fit in nicely even this season.

Long term the #1 2014 as well as TT are going to be heard from. While neither may become elite core players, there is room to hope they could possibly develop into something close to that. It is unknown and premature, however, to expect they get to that point. But most teams cannot count much more on for sure prospects.... So Chicago is not looking too shabby.

Self respect goes out the window when you want a cold beer and dont want to pay extra for "hopiness" or whatever these craft beer snobs like to talk about.

So sick of the craft beer phenomenon (spelling?). I get that people might want to try to beers and such, but I just find it annoying when people have multi-hour conversations about a bunch of different beers and then you go and taste them and they are all pretty similar. Granted my palet isnt as refined as some of you guys but to sit there and tell me theres a monumental difference between some IPA and some other IPA or whatever, to me, its ridiculous.

I think I've just been slammed as a beer snob. Yes Mike, there are differences between ales..

Or the story isnt really accurate? No matter how much muscle he puts on, he's still gonna be a small NHL player.

By my counting that's the 2nd hint in the last month that he's going to be with the Hawks at the start of the season.

Haha, wasnt trying to slam anyone. Probly could have used a better way to phrase my opinion.

I understand there are differences, but for me (average drinker, not a die hard beer expert) i cant tell enough of a difference between most craft beers to have a more than 10 minute conversation about it.

No offense Beav

No offense taken Mike.

Guess you don't want to talk about your favorite strain of hops.

Where's he gonna play?

Toews
Richards

Hossa
Kane

Sharp
Saad

Bottom 6? Why?

Not where he'll shine, he'll get knocked around. Not helpful for his development.

Saltines
Braunschweiger
And copious amounts of Blatz Light

For long portions of 1983 and 1984.

Let's ask that question after Stan cleans up the cap issue.

I'm a big fan of the Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale.

Crystal hero is hard to find, because they only do a limited run each year, but it's my favorite IPA.
