Macarthur's seems like a market value one and this one will be too. What's worse is Ryan hasn't been that great for a couple years and now who is their to help get Ryan those totals? He doesn't strike me as the guy that stir the drink, but more the guy that can finish it.

Agreed 100 % Mac contract is pretty dam good.

I think on most teams with an offensive/playmaking centre, Bobby Ryan puts up 30 goals and 60 to 70 points like clockwork

7 mill wouldn't be bad for a guy like him especially since he brings some size and strength.

Honestly, depending on the makeup of the Oilers next summer and how we improve over the course of this year, I'd be fine with trading Eberle (or Yak if value goes up but I like him more than Ebs) for help on D/C, and signing Ryan. That's of course IF he'd come here.

I'm all for asking why, just have some class about it. He's still young, but he needs to learn how to put his emotions in check. I do like that he is passionate though, ask why with some class, then try and prove them wrong with their decision to leave you out.

There is little to no chance he resigns especially since Melnyk's wallet is glued shut.

They should trade him soon and maximize the return. He will likely go for roughly what they traded to get him. Maybe a bit less due to term on the deal.

If they wait, he likely only nets a late 1st + prospect.
