Seeing all the different bridges on the tour was cool too. Dont really have to be an architecture or history buff to enjoy it.

But he's doing what he should do. Surround himself with Smart people. Needs to get rid of Nonis still though...

You could know nothing about hockey in Shanahan's role, and do totally fine. How? Hiring smart people to do good work.

One thing that I wonder with hirings of guys like Charron and Dellow and Metcalf and Pettapice is that they're all smart, but also good "teachers". They all can explain their POV in laymans terms, which I think is something really necessary for a lot of dinosaurs in the NHL

Trevor Linden runs a bunch of wildly successful fitness clubs in BC. Knows some, but not much about running a business. So he hired smart business managers.

He'll boot Nonis after the season and Carlyle after the first losing streak.

last summer they extended him for 5 years though. But seems like they are doing what a lot of teams are doing now, creating an executive committee to make all hockey operation moves and the GM is just a token figure head, he has lost a lot of power in my opinion.

Wouldnt be shocked if Nonis lost his ability to sign off on trades, found it interesting that a team has to submit a list of 3 people who can sign off on trades, and for the Avs Greg Sherman isnt one of them anymore.
