My sole point is that there is a huge difference between disagreeing with the premise of a well reasoned and thought out blog and accusing it of being homerish and trollish.

One aside, which has nothing to do with the blog or any rational premise: I wish the Canucks would go back to the really dark brown orange and gold unis worn during the Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, Rick Walmsley era circa 1994...maybe its just the unis, or the personalities...but I find the Canucks much harder to root for since the color change. There is no rational basis for that statement, but there it is.

I like the color scheme but that logo is booty. It looks like original Nintendo graphics. Update that and I might buy one

Who's asking you to root for the Canucks?
- A_SteamingLombardi

I blame this dill hole type response entirely on the color change.

But to answer your question, I think I'm an open minded enough guy that in the event there is nothing at stake for the Penguins in a given game, its fun to pull for a couple other teams throughout the season or in the playoffs, especially if the team is compelling and the fanbase isn't populated by self important jerks. In the meantime, please send me your mailing address, and I'll send you this free book. It sounds like you need a copy, badly.

Sedin won simply because of East coast bias.

If your using fenclose and qoc stats then yes. But as Michael said, the Hart is much more than stats. It's about the player who was most valuable to their team. Ryan gave two stats and then the points. What about the 40 other metrics in advanced statistics and the intangibles that only the eye test can measure? Value can't be determined by points and possession alone. Defense plays a major part here too as does TOI not too mention the other metrics out there. I'm not saying the decision was right but don't go off of three stats to propose the just VALUABLE player to their team.
- YzermanIsTheMan

Agreed. Hank meant much more to the Canucks than either of the other players to their teams. Malkin would be Pittsburgh's MVP anyway in their cup run, so there is that

I guess it struck me as something that was less well thought out and more of a seeking evidence that supports a pre-formed opinion. Perhaps I was a bit harsh in my language, but I still felt like there could've been more done statistically that would've, in my opinion, better justified the award.

And I was really put off by the vast width of that chart spanning a whole two percent of zone starts, which masks the fact that all three players are sheltered.

The Caps without Ovie would have been pretty bad as well. The Pens would've still made the playoffs without Malkin IMO(that Crosby guy is kinda good).

And without Crosby, Malkin would lead them to the playoffs. Malkin plays better when Crosby isn't around sucking up all the oxygen...

Kinda hard to riot these days when 8th-10th in the conference is most likely.

Just to pass along the information of that Henrik won because Dan missed 20 games. Malkin only played 4 more games then Danny-boy.

I think Sedin was deserving. call me a homer. But Everyone knows the Sedins are unsepprable on this ice. danny got injured, Hank Through the Nucks on his back and earned that trophy without his brother.

I liked those jersey's too.

My sister in law is a Canuck fan and I lost a bet to her and had to buy her a Canuck jersey. So I bought her this one.

So is hockey Buzz going to write articles about all past trophy winner's and why there is massive DOUBT on why that player shouldn't be deserving of the award?

Its either this or argue about what constitutes the color gold vs yellow. And don't even get me started on maize!!!

Considering Ryan is on vacation right now, I think its pretty cool he wrote these ahead of time so we would have something new to argue about everyday.
