Anybody know where the Rangers stand on the 50 contract limit now? Do they have to move a player before re-signing John Moore? Can contracts (i.e., Duclair) be deferred until next year?
- Pete V

Moore still isn't signed?

I thought I read Duclair's deal could still slide but I think I saw that from a reporter's tweet like 3 or 4 months ago so I have no idea if I'm remembering it correctly.

No, that slogan was fairly recent. The UC has been around since the mid-90s and, upon it's inception, the UC was one of the loudest hockey arenas to play in. When they hit their dark ages though, and management literally shut their fans out, the arena became a mausoleum.

If it was it must've been in the early 2000s or earlier as the slogan has been One Goal since 07 or so. Trust me I'm well aware of the history. It was disgraceful what the old ownership did. Not to mention the fact they didn't televise home games which is dumb.

Just spoke to a member of the @NYRangers Front Office re signing of Hayes : " 6'5 skilled Centre Ice Men are hard to find."Great point.

Rangers apparently view Hayes as a center. He's officially listed at 6'5" 225 lbs. Looks like he will be competing with Miller and Lindberg for that 3C spot...man adding that kind of size to our center depth is awesome.

Anthony Duclair tallies 3 goals / 2 pp, and the GWG, SH all in the 2nd period. Registers 9 shots in 4-3 Remparts win over Rimouski. #NYR

That's right. Our boy Duclair doin' what he does best.

That's true, until recently the Hawks were in a bigger drought but from 94 until now Rangers fans haven't wavered
- KreiderBomb

The fans had every right to not go to games. As I just mentioned, how do you market your product when it is terrible.

I'd argue the Hawks drought was much worse. They were just plain awful. Rangers at least spent money to try and put a good product on the ice - Drury/Gomez, Bure, Jagr, etc.

Nice to have options, plus Miller could move to wing. I still Miller hS inside track but competition in camp should bring best in each of them

I definitely get the feeling we ain't done yet. Definitely wouldn't count out some sort of trade happening before camp starts.

Really? What can you see them doing? I wouldn't be surprised by anything, but not really expecting anything pre-season either. Never know.

Real late to the party but I love this signing. And to say Hayes will bust because of his style of play, AV and his staff turned Pouliot around. Hayes will be no problem.

Yeah, I honestly know nothing about him except he is big and put up good numbers his senior year. Literally there is absolutely no risk whatsoever, and a ton of possible upside.

Nothing major maybe a minor leaguer gets traded for a conditional pick. The Rangers are almost capped out and I don't see any kind of trade involving Staal either.

I believe with Hayes and Kristo it makes 50, I can think of a $1.5 signing that looks less appealing by the day

Love adding prospects for nothing, with Hayes, Haggerty, McCarthy, Bodie and Allen all signed in the past year it takes the sting right out of not having high picks

Rangers have been doing a more than decent job maintaining a pipeline despite their lack of first round picks lately.

And the thing is he is signed now. It's not like he is demanding top 6 minutes or anything. He is on an entry level deal and part of the organization. He could end up spending the year in Hartford, who knows. So I don't get how anyone can say this is a dumb move. In retrospect this equates to the Rangers coming to terms with a draft pick.

I read that Duclair and Graves will be off the 50 contract list when/if they get sent back to their junior teams.

Duclair is likely a year away from being in NY full time.
