I wouldn't say Forsberg had the best post-Flyer career unless we're talking between his draft year and his acquisition in 2005. He was okay for Nashville and okay for Colorado in his brief stints.

Best post-Flyer career could be Sharp, but I think Jeff Carter needs some consideration. Jari Kurri technically would be a candidate as well.

great, stats and low scoring games

whoooohoo !

I think NHL would be in trouble if it starts seeing lower scoring games. To casual fans I think they would get bored.

Solid list as always Big E. I disagree with Dave Brown as best fighter. It's clearly Jody Shelley. Not even debatable.

(frank)ing hate this ice bucket poop.

How bout donating to the (frank)ing charity and actually helping instead of dumping cold water on your face like an idiot.

(This is more for people my age that I see doing on Facebook 97 times per day. I'm sure Therrien donated)

Mini rant over

Dave Brown was the best, to me. Have you ever seen the size of his hands? Brashear was good, but Brown and Wilson would have demolished him. I never saw much of Homer fighting.

I've been to 17 NHL games in my life. Only one of those games was an NHL game that didn't include the Flyers. It was The Red Wings against The Hurricanes in Detroit back when Rod Brind'Amour and Justin Williams were on the team in 07. I missed both of them as Flyers, they were free tickets and I felt obligated to go. Amazing match up at the time though.

On one end of the ice you had Rod Brind'Amour, Eric Staal, Justin Williams, Erik Cole, Andrew Ladd, Cory Stillman, Ray Whitney, Matt Cullen, Dennis Seidenberg and Cam Ward.

On the other end you had Pavel Datsyuk, Hank Zetterberg, Nicolas Lidstrom, Chris Chelios, Brian Rafalski, Nicolas Kronwall Thomas Holmstrom, Johan Franzen and Dominik Hasek.

It was just nice to admire the skill on both sides.

He was leading the NHL in scoring at U.S. Thanksgiving weekend of 2005 when he pulled his groin. He was in and out of the lineup the rest of the season. But it was vintage Forsberg in the playoffs against Buffalo.

This still remains the best individual shift I have ever seen by a Flyers player:

- bmeltzer

my 3 fave Individual shifts in recent years......Forsberg vs Buffalo, G vs the Pens in game 7 and Richards vs Montreal in 2010.

No Schultz? Every time I see the fight where he pummeled Dale Rolf I enjoy it thoroughly. Rolf ended Barry Ashbee's career. I thought of it as payback.

There's enough randomness in hockey to keep it interesting, but it's the nature of all team sports that the score tends to progress more towards zero as teams and coaches improve, unless you change the rules once in a while to (frank) with them.

This.

Good for them for coming up with this idea and increasing their donations by a metric poop load this year.

And I'm pretty sure people are dumping the ice on themselves AND donating. That means donating to a good cause and making a friend make a jackass out of themselves is done at the same time. That's good hustle.

The fact is, whether you're dumping water on yourself like a dumbass, or pissing on everybody's parade like a joyless old (frank) (and yes, I know, I'm a joyless old (frank) most of the time), you're probably far more aware of ALS than you were two weeks ago. I literally never heard anybody mention ALS ever before the ice bucket challenge. I knew of Lou Gehrig's disease, but only in an "that was a baseball guy, right?" kind of way.

I thought that you might like this. In normal circumstances I wouldn't bother unless it was the Flyers against anyone but Brindy and Williams were there, so how could I say no? Something about Cole and Staal at that time though. Cole was a beast that game.

It's nasty. My friend's mom has it, and she doesn't have much left in the tank. I guess I'm a little touchy.

I can certainly speak for the people I know who have done it that I know from high school or college and I'd say about 6 out of 100 donated. It just gets to me.

If most people donate, good for them and good for the cause. But it just enrages me to see people do it and not donate.

Sorry if my earlier comment offended anyone. It was pretty brash.

The era thing to me is a cop out. Not that I'm attacking you or anything. It's like you were able to enjoy games getting out of control in your time but you want to deny your children of experiencing this.

I hate to take him to task, he's good people, but it's a rant I went on yesterday, and I still think getting upset about the ice bucket challenge is dumb. This isn't some ill conceived "stop Kony 2012 in Darfur by joining a facebook group" slacktivist BS. It turns out you can have a real, effective charity cause that also involves fun. A whole lot of people don't seem to realize this, though.
