I'm pretty sure that after signing that contract, Pouliot literally dropped it on the couch and sat on it in honor of the next 4 years.

yeah i just don't think $4 million is that much anymore. Brooks Orpik got $5.5 million. Dave Bolland got $5.5 million. $4 million for a solid third line player who is just entering his late 20s... not the worst deal in the world.

I wouldn't give a guy like Pouliot a 4 year contract...I'd worry he would get complacent.

He finally learned that his 4 weeks of above average play will only pay if it's in the playoffs, he had been wasting those weeks randomly during the regular season for too long.
