Isles have better Offensive group than Ottawa.

This is the first time in a long time as an Islanders fan I can read comments like this and laugh. Their rolling out a pretty good squad this year. As long as they stay healthy, they are a contender. Their stacked with depth at F, D is underrated and their goalie situation is light years better than it was before.

I honestly don't know how you can look at both of these teams rosters and say the Sens are better.

God you're a homer.. your team lost its only decent center in Spezza and one of your two good wingers in Hemsky. Ek65 will score 20 more points the land your top forward. Ottawa is getting Mcdavid or Eichel.

It is just like that James Tanner guy. Somehow believes Edmonton, Nashville Arizona will make the playoffs over Colorado, San Jose and Dallas......

You know Colorado only won the West last season and San Jose tied for 3rd. Neither team got worse and Dallas significantly upgraded their forward position with Spezza and Hemsky. Edmonton has a lot of young players but to this day they still don't know where to be in the defensive zone.

Nashville has while will be better with a healthy Rinne, I still do not believe in that forward group. Neal's production will drop without Malkin and frankly their centers suck.

Arizona has nothing really going for them. Offensively they are weak compared to other teams, defensively they are ok and if Smith ever goes down, I would not be too confident with Dubnyk.

Looking at what other teams have done this offseason none of these 3 look like a playoff team. The weakest playoff teams are Minny and Dallas and they are streets ahead of those three teams

Lost Hemsky -4 goals (Total he got in Ottawa)

Isles lost No one
Got Kuelmin +9 Goals
Got Grabovski +13 Goals

Ott: 236 -3 = 233
Isles: 225 + 22 = 247

Looks like Islanders are a higher scoring team than Ottawa plus Halak will improve GA. Obviously this isn't exactly how it will be. Can't get hockey down to math but on paper which this entire discussion is based on NYI are a better team than Ottawa
