Lucky me. But let's not compare homer to snow... I don't want you to ruin your computer screen with tears. - 28Girouxsalem28

No. Homer basically recognized giroux as superstar and built a team around him in one off season. Snow has done very little to assemble an even average core around JT. |

Seriously. I just thought the Islanders had an awesome off season so far. They'll be better. The Flyers on the other hand have a very "so,so" D right now. Del Zotto has bust written all over him - Barnaby36
Your point makes no sense because the flyers d is still better then nyi and Phillys O is also better. Pitts D isn't anything to be proud if either buddy. |

Relax Potsy, I made a stupid joke about your former GM's name and you flew off the handle. Breathe into a paper bag or something. Or plastic. |

Of course. One thing that will be a huge improvement to last season is that the players will be in a lot better shape than the start of last season. Berube has made that clear to every player. Flyers also need to play much better Team defence and 5 on 5 scoring. You may be able to rely on the PP in the regular season but playoff time you need to score 5 on 5 because you aren't always going to get PP time and the even if you do, teams have been preparing to defend your specific PP setup in practice. |

It wouldn't upset me as much if they did miss. Just because of the draft class this year. But yeah they are a playoff team. The east isn't really a tough conference. Toronto Carolina Florida nyi buffalo Ottawa Detroit cbj all miss. |

You can't honestly think snow is even close to as good as homer was right? - 28Girouxsalem28
Nope. Not at all. Not that I think he was a great GM or anything. Snow has his good points too but homer was a better GM but what is that really saying? |

That was part of the reason for the slow start. Lavy did not have his players in top shape. Berube came in and he got the guys skating during practice and benched guys he felt were still not in good enough Shape. L.Schenn was in that dog house for a while. |

haha our D looks pretty good to be honest. Better than last year:
out "an aging Orpik/Niskanen/Engelland"
in "Ehrhoff/Despres/Dumoulin"
we are faster and more skilled than before on D
Martin-Letang
Ehrhoff-Määttä
Despres-Bortuzzo
Scuderi-Dumoulin
That's a pretty good group of Ds.
