Cap will go up, so maybe the percentage of the cap he takes up will be the same.
right now he accounts for about 6.5% of the cap.
bet the cap is at lest 75M in two seasons, so he would probably take up 8-9% of the cap. not terrible.

Couturier and Voracek also need to be resigned that year and both of their salaries as a percentage of cap will go way up.

For a team that kinda sucks, it's amazing that so many people covet players on Winnipeg's roster.

Our LW depth without Schenn is a scary thought.
- hereticpride

Even scarier to realize that he's not even a natural LW.

Didn't we have some 20-30-goal left wing a while back, like a few months ago? What ever happened to him?

Winnipeg has some very good young talent, but like the Oilers, they're top heavy and lack good management. If one of Trouba/Morissey was available, I'd open the vault.

Loved Linesman as a kid growing up, always tried to emulate that "Rat" like behavior. He was the ultimate sh*t disturber that could score, fight, you name it. That was an awesome line of pretty much everything you want with Linesman, Propp and Holmgren. You know you've had an impact on the game when your name is the "Rat" - sort of like Pele or something. Not messing either, he was an awesome player and today's agitator's pale in comparison. Have a good birthday!

Trouba, I understand. Great young talent. Totally get it.

It's the rest of the players like Bogo and Buff that have me scratching my head as to what we hope to achieve by bringing these guys in. I just think we'd end up creating more holes than we covered.

Isn't he a UFA next offseason? If so, why would anyone trade for him right now unless it's a steal?

I would imagine Linseman and Propp had plenty of room out there with Holmgren on that line.

They have a lot of "good/very good" players who get hyped up as "elite" players, and I don't know why. Heck, even E. Kane isn't all that he's hyped up to be. Bogo and Big Buff are players where it would be nice to have them, but they won't be your difference between a Cup and no Cup.

Two or three years ago, at most, Bogo was Trouba or Morrissey. He's had injury troubles & battled consistency like a lot of young defensemen. If he puts it together, he could be a top pair guy.

There's always Ice Hockey, Blades of Steel, Mutant League Hockey (which I loved), Brett Hull Hockey, Mario Lemieux Hockey, ESPN National Hockey Night (w/Bill Clement), Wayne Gretzky's 99 All Stars Hockey, and a bunch I'm sure I'm forgetting.

God bless NES / Sega Genesis.

He could be. But I'd be wary of paying for that potential. Also, Bogo never had a junior career like Morissey (who played in a harder league on a worse team), and Trouba has already had a better season that BoGo has seen yet. Those guys are offensive dynamos. BoGo has stagnated. He COULD blossom, but I wouldn't open the vault to hope for it.

I think that's why many of them haven't been dealt. The do have some good young pieces. It would be smart for them to move some of those veterans to get more young talent. They could also look to acquire a player with more consistency but less of an upside as Kane

No doubt about it, if not for Holmgren, Linseman would have been killed.

Yeah but Schenn hasn't had the amount of injuries Bogo has.

more than likely yes.
at the same time, you hope to have 2 or 3 kids on D with ELC and maybe couple at forward that take up a lot less space than the older guys they replace.

... and he wasn't going to top out as a player type that is quickly becoming less and less relevant.
