Would you guys do coburn and B Schenn for Bogo and Kane?

Ediit: plus leier

- PhillySportsGuy

No, but I'd probably think hard about Bogo for Coburn straight up... or AMac if they'd accept that instead.

Not at all. Streit actually acquitted himself quite well last year after about 1 1/2 months adjusting. We'll see how that looks in 2-3 years, but so far he's okay.

If there's no market for Vinny, then you play him and maybe trade him at the TDL. No reason to dump young talent for the sake of moving contracts. Deal with it for the time being.

personally, just not a fan of his contract term, value, and his age when you put all three together.

In finding it hard to see how this would be a cap savings trade for the flyers

Doing nothing might be worse though. Is rather my team try and fail then not try at all

If I'm a Jets fan, I'm not too worried. So many terrific kids on the way, and so many talented youngsters already on the roster... they could look like the Nords/Avs sometime in then future if they can just unearth a decent goalie.

On the flip side, I think one bad trade could really set them back... they won't be able to make up for it via UFA since that's the last place on earth players are willing to go.

anyone willing to move one of the kids on D if they could also part with two older guys?
Say Streit and Vinny?

- nails

Not willing to part with a young defense prospect just to be rid of Vinny or anyone else.

If it was a situation where Bogosian or another similar guy was the return, I'd be more open, but still not eager

after looking at it, after LTIR etc, if the flyers don't actually care about cap savings, they could trade $3M in contracts and young players to afford Bogo contract.
so in theory, if Peg was only looking to the future, L Schenn, prospect, and picks is all it would take

Can't they re-hire Waddell for a day?

absolutely.
if you are moving one of the young guys, you need an established guy of at least Coburn skill coming in.

You're higher on their players than I am. You think schiefle is a future top line center. I'm not sure about that

I think they still have enough option 2 cap space left to absorb the difference in their cap hits without putting Kimmo on LTIR right away.

This year no, long term yes. Coburn has to be resigned in two season. With contracts for defensemen going up, no doubt Coburn is a 6+ million dollar defenseman on the free agent market. Brooks Orpik just got $5.5 at 33 years old so Coburn could even get $7 in two seasons.

If I'm trading Schenn, let alone Couturier, I want someone as close to a sure thing as possible coming back in return.

Let's just say Bogo is not that.

No thanks, Simmonds is signed to very cap friendly deal with, I believe, 5 more years to go.

Same.

I'd be happy to have Bogosian on the team; just not at that price.

Absolutely, I'm only including Couturier in a deal if a guy like OEL, Pietrangelo or Weber is coming back.
