Based on Eklund's blogs. Who knows if any of this is true. - RogerRoeper

Nonis has been clear on this...he'd move anyone if it improved the team. But he has also said that he has never tried to move Dion, or put him on the market. - djamon
In Fairness what GM would publicly state that he's trying to move 1 of his players?
I cant recall any GM doing that. |

Maybe so, but this idea that he's on the market has never been confirmed by anyone other than random HB posters. Logic would suggest that since RC played the living poop out him last year he must be valued by the Leafs...no?
I agree they may have an issue with the leadership of the team, and Dion is obviously a big part of that failure, but as far as on-ice performance they have no issues with him or his contract. |

The only concern for me about Sharp is that last season started on fire and the 2nd half disappeared. Is he going to continue that trend? Is the real concern on him. - Ur Not Me
There was a drop after the Olympics but the points and shots were still there - just not the goals. There were rumors of a shoulder issue in the playoffs and his strongest games were his last 3 against LA. One of the better players on this ice in game 7. I think he will be back on a 30 goal pace like 11 and 12 without the Olympic motivation.
I think GMs have the same concern and that may have contributed to no deal happening before the draft. |

Agree on age. He would be a positive factor for your locker room though. He mentored Kane thru his difficulties (among others). Sharp also may end up going for cheap due to the cap need. Nabbing a 40 goal scorer and captain material with 2 rings for say a high pick and prospect would be a steal for Garth. - tredbrta

Dont bother. Id actually take sharp. I think he'd be awesome playing with tavares. Won a couple cups. I just find it funny how the hawks and their fans(sorry im generalizing i meam the two on this thread)want to get rid of this up and coming "first pairing" defenseman in leddy? Ridiculous. Half their thread couldnt wait to get rid of him for jack shat now all of a sudden hes some incredible young player. I dont care what kind of depth you have teams dont do that. It makes zero sense. You'd think some of these guys actually think theyre making the deals? |

Not sure about the price, but Sharp would make the Isles a better team for the next 2-3 years. What's the issue with Sharp in an Islanders uniform? |

It would depend on what the asking price will be, I say is the difference. We all know Sharp is a valuable player and would look great in an islander uniform but its at what cost??? |

That's always the thing in the end. If Chicago was serious I would trade one or 2 of the many extra forwards like Lee and/Bailey to get it done....but no real high end picks/prospects. Chicago got themselves in the cap trouble, let them bite the bullet. |

And Bryan Murray publicly stated he was trying to move him - Yeti1181
Like I said it not likely a GM would, but Bryan Murray is clueless, like most Isles knew Snow was gonna trade Nino after his agents trade demand but Snow didn't publicly say he was going to trade him, he said we will handle this matter internally and Nino understands the situation and everything is fine.... Guess what it wasn't and got dealt at the draft. So if you find 1 scenario out of a 100, good for u... |

Agreed.....these things have a way of leaking....MacT did make it known he was shopping Hemmer and Horcoff, however.not sure that was the best strategy, but everyone kinda knew they would be shopped regardless. - Jeropotato
It's totally different if rumors swirl around so much and most of the hockey world is talking about it bc something gets leaked. |

See to me I'm not moving Lee unless a young player is in return (just my opinion) but Bailey + pick + fringe prospect or such yes. Even better, I might consider a swap of Grabs straight up for Sharp but don't think Hawks will entertain either. |

You said I don't recall any GM doing that so I answered your question, so not sure why you keep arguing the fact. You asked and I answered. |

The only reason the Hawks have to trade Sharp is if the money is NOT identical. It would be a Cap saving move only. |
