Not trying to hijack the thread, I just did some research on the goalie that was signed by the LV Phantoms

Connor Knapp was a Buffalo draftee and had a good college set of numbers and varying numbers in the ECHL and AHL. Hard to tell merely on win loss or save percentage- the rosters are very fluid in the ECHL and he may have been with teams when they were loaded up or playing shorthanded due to call ups and injury.

He did play a couple of games for the Sabres last year in "the show". With Zepp and Stolarz in Allentown in AHL he will likely be farmed to Reading and called up to the Phantoms with the is the domino effect if Mason or Emery are injured and they send someone up.

You will not see him with the Flyers unless they are going for the draft lottery in a ruined season

I love these depth signings by Hexy. This org desperately needs them, especially forwards and in goal.

Zepp has to be the guy called up if disaster strikes... hell, I'd even give him a way outside shot at beating Emery out of camp.

Plenty of great Flyer players of it's team history to choose from. Hard to narrow it down to 10.

I will say that while he was here, I was a HUGE Michal Handzus fan. I know he is up there in age, but I kinda feel bad nobody picked him up in free agency.

I am a Royals STH so I have a deeper interest in the minors and as mentioned in another thread, had a chance to meet and speak with players at some team events.

As part of the volunteer work, I even got to pick up a player at PHL who was signed as a free agent and drove him to the team lodging.

Hoping they load up the minors so I can see another Calder Cup Championship ( I was at the winning game in 05 and missed the 98 one by one game) and see a Kelly Cup Championship in person again like I did with the AC Boardwalk Bullies

Sort of given up hope on the Flyers winning another Cup until the ghosts and curses from their 70's Cups are gone. They were not supposed to beat the Bruins and denying Orr another Cup went against the script. They were good enough to beat the other team and refs then.

Most likely will be tied up in various courts for the next 3 years or so. One thing for sure, some lawyers will be making big bucks off of this!

Same here. By making these depth signings, Hexy is not only giving depth to LV Phantoms, but also instilling a winning culture there which they haven't had in quite awhile. Having these AHL veterans come in will definitely help the on-ice product in the AHL and maybe get the younger guys going.

Was a Bullies season ticket holder the entire time they were in AC. Our seats were in the front row, right next to the Bullies bench. I used to enjoy swapping stories with their various backup goalies during games since he basically sat right next to me!! Those teams were so much fun to watch, it's a shame that neither the local gov't or community supported them.

Even to this day I still hate the Brindy/Primeau trade. The reason that trade was made was because Clarke knew Lindros was done as a Flyer and wanted that big center. Carolina got a great team player who did everything he was asked to do and and a stanley cup. We got a player who complained about his contract and held out and never put up the numbers Brindamour did and we got no cup. Yes Primeau had one really good playoff year but outside of that, he was a no show come postseason time. IMO we lost that trade.

I worked on the HVAC system design with the engineering firm when they rehabbed the arena. We took particular care on this design and we did some innovative things and kept within the historical renovation One of the other arenas ( I think Trenton) had some ice problems early on due to air motion on the ice, which we took care to avoid

Love handzus and kapanen from that era. People think I'm taking a shot at coots when I think he's a handzus in the making. I don't get it

You have to remember that Primeau had a great first season where he put up 70+ points, and then was asked to take on a more defensive-oriented role on the team when Hitchcock came aboard.

I'm sure there would be room in the car for Pronger as well.
