If you don't have a quarterback that you feel is or will be capable of bringing your team a championship within at most five years, you are a poorly run organization. Obviously, the Bills feel they can with EJ Manuel can do this, but I strongly feel they are incorrect, with or without the mythical veteran backup mentor.
- buffalofan19

The mythical veteran backup can act as a coach on the field and go over things with the kid when he comes off. Especially when you have a young offensive coordinator like we do . Everyone is learning here.

Most quarterback's are projects . Unless they are the rare ones that go with the first or second pick . He should have never started as a rookie . But Kolb got hurt. The game moves a lot faster than it did in College.. Manual was picked at #16 . Not or two.

Honesty there is no point talking about it.

I didn't see too many erratic throws last night though. In fact a couple a pretty good ones. Time will tell. It's only preseason

And there you have it. I've been saying this from day one : The Bills took a project QB with their first round selection. Who does that ? That's insane.
- kritter65

Lots of teams do that . Most rookie QB's do not start right away . Used to be they always held a clipboard their first couple of years.

Neither of them should be your starting quarterback if you're serious about winning a championship any time in the near future.
- buffalofan19

that conversation should be reserved for 2 years from now IMO

Come one man. This is Buffalo. It's a "what have you done for me in the last 15 years" kind of town.

No but seriously, Manuel looked "accurate" last night

he is a very accurate qb, something I tried to get across with stats earlier int eh week

if they take the cuffs off of him, he will convert a few haters in the near future

oh and he does have a descent arm and can throw the deep ball

young qb coach

they really could benefit from a grossman as the back up

no clue why the bills brass are avoiding this unless they really like both backups

They did suck.

Also, not sure about anyone else, but there was a huge drop off from Manuel to Tuel and Lewis last night. Something people were concerned about

Dismiss my post all you want, but while a garbage team like Edmonton is at least on the right track to getting better, your garbage team (the worst in the league by far) is only getting worse. I hope you'll enjoy losing for at least the next five years!
- MrData

Doesn't have a clue. So much surface level thinking demonstrated here that it is a complete embarrassment to your handle. mr. data implies deep thinking. So munch on the fact the Sabres have deliberately set a course for being a poor results team for the upcoming seasons while getting leadership in place to maximize the compete level...so we lose because we don't have any scoters ready to play in the NHL, but we are stockpiling a ton of them with that potential that should begin to impact the team beginning with the 15-16 season. So yes, we will suck in terms of points this upcoming year...that is the Plan.then land McEichel and another 2 1st round selections and the team is then position to compete with the Conference leaders. The Plan.
Meanwhile, Montreal turns to youth and will have growing pains now that Buffalo acquired their leadership...I foresee a bit of a step backwards ... Not huge, but will struggle to be a top. 3 team in the East while the youth finds its way as leadership.
As far as Edmonton goes...it's about time they start to move up, don't you think...MINGA they have fumbled the ball along the way.

In a different way, that is a good thing...let's hope that the 16th pick overall out performs those two..if not, good lord are we in trouble. Best thing that happened this year was having 5 preseasone games to get EJ the work he so desparetly needs.

That is true of 98.3% of Rookie / 2nd year QB's. . Yes there are some, not many and they tend to be near generational talents.

oh my

I have him on a few of my money teams, not many

I avoid the eagle wr's in my fantasy drafts

the mystery teams for me in the NFC are the bears, lions, eagles and skins

I could see one of those teams in the super bowl this season

They even had him shorten his throwing motion. He is clearly someone who wants to be successful at the nfl level.

I fear he spends too much time thinking about colorful outfits and not enough time thinking about his swing.
