Generational players should be defined as players who changed the game in such a way where they were head over heels better than everyone else, won numerous awards in consecutive seasons, and influenced tactics and strategy on the ice in such a way.

That was my point. Yes, he's ready, but not for top-4 duty. So he's ready for the NHL, but not where you'd like him to be.

To reel myself in and be realistic... you know, just for you.

I think this will actually happen: Morin makes the team out of camp, he gets 9 games of NHL experience. Unless he really excels, he goes back to the Q. Ghostisbehere starts his season in the AHL and by the Holidays he's playing top 4 minutes on the blueline and showing everyone what he'll be if he can manage to do it without getting his head taken off at center ice. I think that's his biggest learning curve. I think he can get that in a couple months in the AHL.

Making sure ones head is up while the guy about to take off that head doesn't peel off even though soon to be headless player doesn't have the puck anymore.

Yeah. That's the scariest hit I've ever seen. The sad thing was that only old man McTavish fought (and beat the hell out of) Bureau. There should have been 18 other guys ready to go.

I wouldn't put Lidstrom on there, only because, as good as he was, he always had close competition. Guys like Pronger, Niedermayer, and Blake always gave him a run. HOFer and one of the 5 best defensemen ever, yeah. But that's not "generational" to me. Unless you want to make Eddie Shore a generational talent.
- jmatchett383

Denis Potvin... doesn't get enough credit for how good he was. Outside of Orr, he'd be the dman I'd want to start a franchise w/.

That's exactly what I see happening for Morin. Even if he's a healthy scratch, being with the Flyers throughout camp and for 9 games will be nice to show him how it's done.

I'm not sold on Ghost being ready for top-4 minutes after 2 1/2 months, but I do think he'll see the NHL this year at some point, in some capacity.

Also, I predict that, at some point in his first NHL game (especially if it's at home) Ghost will try some crazy play. It will end up in a net. I just don't know which.

Speaking of Kariya, I think his level is where Giroux falls... parts of his game were otherworldly, and he drove the bus for those Ducks teams, but there was always a handful of better players in the league during his day. Hopefully G will enjoy a bit more longevity.

G has been healthy so far on the ice. Apart from getting kneed in the head by Simmonds.

I never saw him play. But I hear he was basically Pronger, but better.

Dirty players who got a pass because they were ... well Scott Stevens.

Also, our prospects can't play this season because they are our prospects and our players, especially on D, are just so good they have no chance of being better than them.

For those who have never seen it:

Go to 1:20. It's so much worse than Stevens or Kariya.

There's only so many more new things you can come up with for the same game. Getting more and more difficult to come up with new revolutionary stuff.

A lot is going to depend on the cap situation. They may not have the cap space to give Morin the 9 game tryout.

Pronger to let off light A LOT. Hell, he straight up stomped down on a dude's leg. He should have gotten 20+ games for that.

Princess Perry is an incredibly dirty player. I loved when Richards beat him up in juniors, and I was giddy when Datsyuk beat him up a few years back.
