Call me crazy, but I dont think the Flyers are as bad as some of you are thinking. I still see them as a playoff team. The defense has been an issue since Pronger went down. Whats new??

Timonen was steady but we all saw he was a shadow of his former self. He got slow. The team is faster this season with Umberger and MDZ. Laughton may even make the team.

The flyers will be a better team this year than last.

More chemistry since no major roster overhaul. Kids like coots, schenn, etc will contribute more as they take the next step. The team will be more disciplined penalty wise.... And more dedicated to 2 way play from everything I've seen from Hexy and berube. Neither Hartnell or Kimmo are game changers.

Let's say you get arrested for drug possession, should your employer have a right to fire you?
- MJL

Well in most American states your employer can fire you for getting a haircut, wearing a blue shirt on a Thursday or literally any reason that isn't specifically prohibited by law like getting pregnant.

I would rather watch the grass grow than the CFL. It is just horrible

I've always liked the CFL. Their lax rules on motion make the NFL look antique and non sensical. Still love the NFL though.

That's why I tell me boss that I'm pregnant every day.

That depends on the type of work you do and in what capacity you are employed.

Some employees labor under off hours behavioral clauses.

I don't understand a lot of rules about being able to met, set, line up, become an eligible receiver, flinch or not flinch, etc. It all seems very overly-sophisticated.

It would be discrimination if they said you are not pregnant.

Exactly. I eat a uterus every day just to make sure I have one in me.

I know a woman who was fired yesterday because of pictures she posted on facebook of her son graduating elementary school. She hasn't told me the justification they used but I can't wait to hear it.

I remember watching the CFL fairly regularly when we first got cable back in the '80's because, really, that was the nature of ESPN's programming back in those days.

Well, that, and Australian Rules football. Which is really badass.

I played but I don't get the reasoning. Lining up on the line of scrimmage, single man in motion, uncovered tackle... blah blah blah. Why does it all matter?

I say just make sure they're behind the line of scrimmage and let them have at it. Sometimes a guy is eligible, sometimes he's not. Sometimes an O-lineman can't flinch, sometime he can stand up and turn his head. Sometimes a guy can run back and forth and the ball can be hiked (word?) and sometime he needs to come to a stop. It's all smoke and mirrors.

That's the CFL. The center is pretty much the only player who can false start.

That's awesome.

That's another one I don't get, the center false starting. He has to be completely still, yet he must start the play by violently jerking his arm backwards, regardless of what the QB calls out. That seems very counter-intuitive.

I like a good running game mixed with the pass. CFL is 80 percent pass and the majority of players are made up of guys who can't make NFL.
The field is way too big and the end zones are huge. You could throw a bomb from the 2 yard line.

NFL is by far the best but NCAA is also great to watch.

I love that a player sustained a broken leg before an official play had ever been run in the league. That's just pure perfection.
