So like, knocking out you wife and dragging her out of an elevator or just a little grab @$$?
- mayorofangrytown

I don't believe Ray Rice should have been suspended by the NFL. Thrown in jail, yes. But that had zero to do with football and everything to do with being a wife-beating scumbag.

They have 7 roster defensemen and at least 3 players in the AHL who can play at the NHL level next season if not 5.

Pretty sure we were talking about goalies at this point.

They have 7 roster goalies, they just haven't disclosed who all of them are yet.

Wow. Twitter reports that Aaron Ekblad sustained a concussion at WJHC camp and has been sent home, with the Panthers already notified.

I'm on the tablet, which makes it difficult for me to block-save the actual tweet

My concern is the quality of those goalies. We'll see.

there is a good chance that Philly may have 4 good teams by 2018....4 championships would be exciting and I am just sharing all this positive energy I am feeling. this is barring plagues, wars, fires, floods....

Yeah -- the Flyers are having a relatively poopty offseason as of now, but that sucks. Chris Stevenson reports a full recovery is expected, but still, a concussion over the summer has to suck

I mean, you're just a fan so there doesn't seem to be any impact on you but if I were part of a league management team I would have to do something to control the damage actions like that would have on my product. Even if it would amount to a slap on the wrist.

Obviously most people in charge feel the way you do what with all the domestic assault that goes unpunished.

First off, as I said, he should be in jail, so I don't see how you are painting me as someone who condones domestic violence. Step the (frank) back.

Secondly, we're talking about a game where grown men try to physcially destroy each other 100+ times a week. I'm not sure their "image" is being tainted by physical violence.

Thirdly, IF the league wishes to impose its own sanctions for off-field infractions (which the CBA allows), then the league is a joke for only giving him 2 games relative to other suspensions.

I meant unpunished in the sports leagues not in general. That wasn't a shot at you. I, in no way, came away from that post thinking you condone domestic abuse. It was poorly phrased.

I disagree with the second. Although the NFL is a juggernaut so even murder is a minor tweak.

And yeah, his suspension length was a complete joke.

Let's say you get arrested for drug possession, should your employer have a right to fire you?

I get that they want their product to be as untainted as possible, but the suspensions they levy don't seem to do much (kind of like NHL suspensions for on-ice behavior) because I believe over 20% of the Ravens' roster was arrested or commited a crime of some sort this offseason. You've got a bunch of roided up thugs with millions of dollars...there's no way to prevent hood activities.

Yeah, that was very closed-minded of me.
