seriously, Freaky, you don't think there is any way whatsoever they rush Ghost with this news, do you?

I think Hextall wants to build, and he'll sacrifice a season by hiring a less-than-average fill in for Kimmo. Not that MDZ is bad. He's just not exactly a defenseman that excels in defense.

Or maybe Alt?

Sam Hinkie owns the Devils and the 76ers, not the Flyers and the 76ers.

I don't think they'll be a lottery team. I think they'll hover between 6-9 in the East again.

I agree Ghost is gonna be a Phantom for a minimum of 1 year, though.

Morin and Hagg are gonna wait at least a year if not two, as well.

Alt I could see them giving some ice time.

Has Alt actually turned into something half-ass decent? Because he looked like a career AHL guy when he left.

ESPN still has nothing about Timonen on its website ... Quality work as always by the worldwide leader.

Not sure. He's been alright, but hasn't had much help on the blue line. Things might be changing with the wave of kids on defense they drafted over the past few years.

I doubt he'll be anything special, but he might be a passable third pairing guy that would be a cheap stopgap.

for once there is an interesting crop of defense in the system. normally it has one or two forwards and a couple of tumbleweeds.
