Does EJ have to go on a massive quest to recover his skills? This does answer the question "why does EJ look so bad in practice?"
- RynoBull

Matt Ellis has them under lock and key and is awaiting EJ's challenge to get them back.

I had the worst experience at Duffs south. Place was filthy. Took an hour to get food.

I guess the moral of the story is everyone's experiences at these places are all over the map. It kinda pisses me off because if people come in from out of town and want good wings I don't like rolling the dice.

Agreed.
Once they figure out how to create a similar experience it will be a great little franchise. Duffs eastern Hills always overcooks them and the service is Meh.

Could a guy like Jamarcus Russel maybe salvaged a career if he had been drafted by a well-oiled machine like New England? Possibly.

I could also see a guy like Wacko Joe Flacco busting had he been drafted by a hot mess like da Raiders.

Does the QB sabalize the organization (Det, Cin), or does the organization stabalize the QB (Balt, Pitt)? Who came first, the chicken or the egg?

- SuperCat

IMO who draft you plays a big part in how you will do, but you still have to have it

Russel got paid and once he got paid, had no interest in staying in shape or learning the playbook. I doubt he would have thrived anywhere

if a team like the Jaguars would have drafted Peyton or Rodgers, I doubt the Jags would have a ring, but would have been a fringe playoffs due to their qb play.

Flaco, IMO would be another Dilfer or Steve Deburg if drafted by a team like the Raiders

If that makes any sense

Reading the TO Sun article about the Bills sale, its so obvious. The Toronto group only paired up with JBJ because they thought he had the influence and connections to allow them to move the Bills. JBJ only paired with them because he needed the rest of the money to make it happen, and these guys would allow him to be the #1 guy while only putting up 30% of the cash. Bon Jovi doesn't want to spend his life savings to sit in the background. Their plan is doomed.

He got sent home for the rest of camp. Didn't seem too bad. Likely just don't want anything to happen to him that could jeopardize his future in camp. Got stood up by some 5' 11" defenseman.

Oh snap, more analytics folks getting work:

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Tuesday that the club has hired Tyler Dellow to consult with Hockey Operations.

Dellow is a well-known hockey blogger and pioneer in hockey analytics who generates discussion on all aspects of the game on the Twitter handle @mc79hockey.

His website at mc79hockey.com went dark on Monday night - presumably in anticipation of the announcement.

The hiring comes two weeks after the Toronto Maple Leafs hired 28-year-old Kyle Dubas, who also embraces advanced statistics, as the team's new assistant GM.
