I think it's human nature to ask yourself just how, exactly, the team would replace Timonen's 20 minutes.

I do believe you don't make it to that level without believing that your team will figure it out. But at some point, if it doesn't get figured out and the season goes off the rails because the defense just doesn't play at the level of a playoff-caliber unit, then I also believe the majority of players won't be stunned.

No way in hell we enter the season with this current defense. Could we?????

I would have to find some way to exact my revenge. It ruined my draft night to see him chosen by Pittsburgh. Anyone else would have been fine. Flyers would have been best.

I'd still take the flyer on him. Its likely the D will succumb to more injuries throughout the seaon. MDZ is young enough to be a depth player for the next few years. The kids will still get ample PT.

no, that's a (frank)ing bumhole.

So he took the injectable form of the drug every day. I suppose that would work because if he had an injury with bleeding, the drug is metabolized out of the body quickly, compared to the oral med which lasts ~5 days (but can be reversed). Still in hockey it is a crazy risk to take.

Buffalo signed Meszaros to a $4m deal rather than resign McBain after watching him play a full season.

I can see the merit in giving him a one year deal here, but I would never pencil him into the 1st pairing and move Coburn out of his usual right-side slot.

Remember, that is also the team that signed Gionta, Ennis, Leino and Stafford to $4M+ deals.
