IM telling you the best two way center in game scored 68points last year.
Bailey will never be a Toews but its not all about putting up 40 goals and 50 assists.
Bailey might be disappointing till now but at 24 years old you don't give up. He not short skill, he short confidence. Too bad he has Capuano that cant extract anything out of his players.
I Can tell you give a Bailey to a Ken Hitchcock or Joel Quenville and be like wow, this kid can play. - Spartiarti
I agree with the last sentence. To an extent... |

So u happy about getting clutterbuck then for nino. Nino didn't produce. We showed Minnesota up nicely on that one.
If bailey keeps putting up points guess what. Ennis won't pass him.
Lee needs some refining. Love his atheletism and nose for net. But he doesn't play complete game. Bailey disappointing till now but I wouldn't say he is a bust. - Spartiarti
well, you finally made me break my summer goal of not calling someone an idiot.
This argument is not only off base, it's flat out stupid. You ignore the point of trading Bailey which is that there is a better player who will likely not be on the roster because Bailey is taking his spot, to point out a player who demanded to be traded? wtf does this have to do with Bailey?
I don't give a sh!t how bailey compares to ennis, how is that relevant? how is where he is career points wise compared to others in his draft year at all valid in this argument?
my point - Lee produced more goals than Bailey and a better point per game rate in 1/4 of the games Bailey played. Lee will be sent to bridgeport if the roster stays the same and no one else is moved out. Lee should be on the roster ahead of Bailey.
You say Lee doesn't play a complete game, wtf is bailey playing? He's invisible 90% of the season and scores all his goals in the other 10% of the games. how is that a complete game?
I do not care what Bailey does on another team - that is irrelevant to me as he has not done squat for the Isles in 6 years. 6 years is longer than the average NHL career ffs.
It's time to move on from him, he was handled poorly, rushed at a young age, lost his confidence and continues to lack that. He's been given prime ice time, top six minutes, pp time, time on the pk ahead of other players who deserved it more and still has not found his game.
He's not going to do it here and under this coaching staff. Our team is better next season with Lee taking Bailey's place on the roster. Time to move him.
If you're going to respond to this, address the goddamn points.

Amac gone does not automatically make the team considerably better. He was asked to do too much. Thats the fault of coach & gm. He should have been #4 or 5 defensman on the team. Banking on Lubo CDh & Strait to play the full season healthy is reaching. Reinhart will make the team (IMO) but as a first year pro dont expect the moon. You also assume Garth will sign/acquire a quality top 4 vet on defense but the clock is ticking & camp opens in 3-4 weeks? You're a friggin eternal optimist, I'll give you that but as I said, with Crappy at the helm we can expect more of the same. The improvement will be missing playoffs by 6-8 points instead of 14. - jmo16

I can assure you with depth now bailey will be benched if he just going through motions.
I think if you going to move bailey u it after another hot start. Problem is if he starts hot no one will want to trade him.
Trading him for nothing now is stupid |

I agree it is way different but same principle. U can't move high draft pick bc they haven't hit stride yet.
We wouldn't be looking for a lw for jt right now if we didn't trade nino.
But the situation dictated what had to be done. Moulson should have been moved 2nd of season for nino to step in year before was traded.
I'm all for moving bailey. But right now is wrong time |

why would you bench him and put 3+ mil out of the lineup, further hurting his trade value if you try to move him later? You're not thinking this through.
His value is to another team that thinks they can get more out of him, maybe a team not deep in offensive talent up front like calgary. You play him and you're still hurting the team, and then if you bench him you're killing what little value he may have at all. This is a poor argument and again you dodged the same questions I've put to you three goddamn times.
answer them, stop hiding behind arguments you haven't even thought out.

good christ. Nino wasn't ready to step in. He'd had one decent season in the AHL and demanded a trade. You don't put him into a top line role after a year of 1 goal on the fourth line and he demanded a trade the second year. The issue here was that he got NHL time at all before he was ready for it and then wanted NHL money when he needed more development time.
Do you think before you type?

our whole defense was (and is) a reach, just like the amac was overplayed argument. He was as bad in the first minute as he was in the last. I'm sick of hearing this because there is no basis for it. Everyone he played with had better analytics away from him than with him, aside from carkner. He was overplayed, yes, but he wasn't any worse because of it, he was awful regardless. |
