Well, (frank), I don't know then. If it's not on RDS, I'm getting Centre Ice.

The only change is that now, instead of listening to Houde speak turbo French when calling a Habs/Bruins game, I get the solid gold soundbites of Jack Edwards.

I doubt he's on a island with that line of thinking.

Also, I'll say this...If I'm the habs, I'd rather be paying for 8 years from 25 to 33 than paying for 5 years at a discount (the 23 to 28 had he not been given a bridge deal) then having to negotiate a long term contract with a UFA where he's looking for 8 years and a MASSIVE pay day (those 8 years running from 28 to 36...where you're still paying top dollar for a 34, 35 and 36 year old Subban). Of course these are all hypotheticals should Subban play out his career in Mtl...but still...

No, but when he's 33 we'll be looking at another long-term deal to take him to retirement, and the back end of that deal will seem like a boat anchor.

they have 60 games, TVA Sports has the remaining 22

RDS was National but with Rogers deal they have regional coverage only.

If he's that/too greedy it's easier to let him got at 33 than at 28...

And we'll know more what we got on our hands...and IF I doesn't work out with the current deal, you can still try and move him...teams will love to think they can 'fix' him...

EDIT: We have a cost certainty across all his prime years... I think this is a major positive for the habs.

"This petition is to try and generate as many signatures to persuade ROGERS (Sportsnet), the NHL, Bell (RDS/TSN) and TVA to put aside their corporate rivalries, and see they will be upsetting tens of thousands of French and English-speaking HABS FANS across Canada !!!"

Whoever drafted this petition is an idiot. This has nothing to do with any of the corporations and everything to do with territorial rights of individual NHL teams.

Oh, I'm not complaining. I was advocating giving him whatever he wanted, and at one point suggested he get 8 yrs, 8.75M per. He got a little more than that, but I'm glad he's locked up for the next 8 yrs.

Those blackouts things are so (frank)ing dumb.

If I pay for a stupid channel, I should be allowed to see what they actually (frank)ing broadcast.

likely already on English tv since I think most are on Sat or Sun nights.

I just switched from Bell to Rogers. FX Canada is carrying NHL games and that channel is only on Rogers around here. Also saved a few bucks..

If it doesn't work out in the current deal Habs could always trade him just before he starts sucking. I'm sure EE would agree with me on this !

I don't ever think Subban will suck...but he'll be tradeable throughout his contract if for whatever reason it doesn't work out on the long term...
