Well they won't removed Gallagher from the lineup, and they will give a chance to Parenteau. So the only guys that are in danger are really Bournival and Moen.

Prust will be hurt by 1 minute into game 1

Who do you remove from the lineup?

We already have either Bournival or Moen sitting in the press box.

Pacioretty-DD-Parenteau
Galchenyuk-Plec-Gallagher
Bourque-Eller-Bournival/Moen
Prust-Malhotra-Weise.

Bournival/Moen

We don't even have space for the new guy Sekac.

Unless you are talking about a trade? Who would you trade?

- ShafterBenRaide

Pacioretty-DD-Parenteau ( not sure PA will fit in there... )
Galchenyuk-Plek- top 6 winger
Bourque-Eller-Gallagher
Prust-Malhotra-Weise.

Bournival/Moen

Sekac will start in the AHL...
DLR is penciled in as a 3rd liner.

We can't pay a top 6 winger. PK took all the $$

Prust in L/W.

And I like the 4th line of Prust-Malhotra-Weise.

Quite sure some $$$ can be shed.

Moen traded / waived would clear up some space.

Of course there's nothing left in the UFA pool worth calling a top 6 winger...so a trade would send $$ the other way.

Indeed, I could see that lineup :

Pacioretty-DD-Parenteau
Galchenyuk-Eller-Gallagher
Bourque-Plekanec-Sekac
Prust-Malhotra-Weise.

Moen : Scratch
Bournival : Hamilton (call back if injury)

You could always switch Galchenyuk and Bourque if need be.

Think Habs will make do with what they have for 20 or more games.

Well Parenteau and DD are good friends. And they are both slow so they might have good chemistry together. Wouldn't be surprised to see Therrien start the year with them together and see how it goes from there.

That would be good, but would Therrien have the Balls to put Plec on the 3rd line?

It wouldn't be the 3rd line ice time wise.

2nd and 3rd line are pretty much equal IMO...Plek is still #2 center.

Far too early to pencil Sekac in these lineups, not to mention De La Rose.

I wouldn't mind seeing the first 3 lines getting about the same ice time. And removing Plec from the PP and giving more PP time to guys like Galchenyuk and Eller, or even Sekac if he makes the team.

Plek will always get more ice time because he'll be matched against top lines ( now that Malhotra is there he might see them a bit less).

The DD line will get more ice time than the Eller line.

I'd give PP time to Plek before Eller. But Galchenyuk definetly has to get more, he's good at controlling the puck and makes great passes.

Maybe this is the year where Chucky gets to play center on the PP ?

Would be a great place to start.

yes Galchenyuk absolutely needs to get big minutes this year. a breakout from him is the best chance we have of injecting some balance and depth into the lineup, offensively speaking.

Yes, and the few times he did see the PP, he seemed to have great chemistry with Subban. Making plays and passes together that other players can't complete.
