Alcool is not the reason for their pain, they try to fix it with drugs and alcool, which obviously doen't work. But it's not the reason why they had the depression to start with.

I told you. I was married to one to start. I also know about 30 people who had a depression, and I would say maybe one or two had a problem with drugs or alcool prior to their depression. 1 or 2 on 30.

I never said "all drug addicts suffer from depression". None of us did. You have made it pretty much an "all or nothing" scenario.

No I didn't. All I'm saying is that of all the depressed people, these (with a drug problem prior to the depression) would be a very slim minority.
