Calling our travel provider to book a trip had a nominal $20 fee plus all the travel costs... A few years back, senior management wanted to cut down on those $20 fees and we were now expected to book our own travel...which literally took up to 2 hours spread over 2 days (because you needed to submit something for approval and that took a day in itself...and involved other people in the process).

So end result, instead of paying a $20, someone making over $80k a year was expected to spend more than 2 hours ($80) working on their arrangements and also request approval from people making over $100k a year, plus have someone making $50k handle all the paperwork.

But hey, they saved the $20 fees!!!
