Does it really matter to you? - elcabong
Why wouldn't it? I'm a hockey fan and a fan of PK. This deal will affect others down the road.
But you can kindly lick my balls for your question.

Actually Subban's career so far is very much like Dion's was at that point. Dion was second in Norris voting (to Lidstrom) back in the day, and Phaneuf had more points through his first four seasons than PK has had.
It's now up to PK to live up to his talent and improve where Dion has taken a step back in recent years. - lumlums
Yea, norris trophy and selection for team canada in a best on best tournament. Very similar starts to their careers. |

Phaneuf arrived in TO already with his best days behind him but I'd say your comparision is correct. |

We know that a lot of people believe Subban is the real deal, a great player. Most fans, especially Hab fans, think he is essential to the success of the team.
On the other hand, we know Bergevin and Therrien have had serious doubts about Subban's game.
Bergevin appears to Subban supporters as being incompetent. Yet every once and awhile I pause and think that maybe, just maybe they have a plan.
What would they get for Subban in a trade? Probably not MacKinnon, but they would certainly get some pretty outstanding talent. Bergevin would express regret at the impasse but might be secretly smiling at the failure to find a deal. |

PK
I backed Bergiven on the bridge deal. When you tell a guy "show us" and he wins a Norris and leads a team to the Eastern Conference finals you have to show him the money. All the Habs are doing is the price in the long run. Or losing him to UFA. - noffsin6
we can now go back to PK sucks |

It does. The maple laughs had dreams of PK in the white & blue. - mushalain1
I never once thought he was coming to TO. But the way the Canadiens and their fans have treated their stars over the years has been pitiful. I hope PK takes them to the bank.
Good one though.

The Habs are really looking bad right now. They are low-balling Subban big time. If he signs another short term contract, enjoy him while it lasts cause he'll be sick of being mistreated by the Habs.
They told him to sign a bridge contract last time and prove that he's worth a big contract.
He did.
Then Bergevin low balls him. Real classy. - woopstash

95% of people said 8 years, $8-$9 million per.
Fair deal that will balance itself out as time goes on. |
