It's now up to PK to live up to his talent and improve where Dion has taken a step back in recent years.

On the other hand, we know Bergevin and Therrien have had serious doubts about Subban's game.

Bergevin appears to Subban supporters as being incompetent. Yet every once and awhile I pause and think that maybe, just maybe they have a plan.

What would they get for Subban in a trade? Probably not MacKinnon, but they would certainly get some pretty outstanding talent. Bergevin would express regret at the impasse but might be secretly smiling at the failure to find a deal.

I backed Bergiven on the bridge deal. When you tell a guy "show us" and he wins a Norris and leads a team to the Eastern Conference finals you have to show him the money. All the Habs are doing is the price in the long run. Or losing him to UFA.
