The Wings are always rebuilding....what do you think makes them so successful? The difference between them and other teams is they can still win while they get ready to make another run.

We will see. To replace Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franson, Kronwall, and to a lesser extent Cleary, Bettuzzi etc without the benefit of high draft picks will not be easy.

He will sign with Montreal, that's why they're in arbitration. He belongs to the Habs for the next 2 years, no matter what. Unless of course his demands (no one really knows what they are) are so out of proportion, that Montreal sees no way of meeting them. At this point, they'd be looking to trade him within this 2 year period.

Man, I don't see the Red Wings winning poop with the current roster, in all honesty. I see playoffs as a fringe team this year, maybe second round depending on the match up.

As to why they haven't sold off anything, don't ask me, ask thumb stuck up his bum Ken Holland. The guy is so squirrely the last few years with trades and UFA signings. I did like the Alfie signing last off season, thats really about it.

I'd say 2 years from now is when to expect an impact from the Wings. Get Mantha a year or two of real hockey and see how he works out.
