I think so too! Doughty just completely controls the game out there. In the same way that Pronger did in his short time in Philly.
- MJL

I think he's as good as it gets out there, with respect to young franchise d-men.

I don't know if anyone brought this up or if I'm just incredibly late in seeing it, but did anyone see that video of Doughty breaking Patrick Maroon's stones?

This was some solid work.

Oh, I wasnt aware of that. What a bargain!! And by your assessment the Flyers have a hell of a bargain with Giroux.
- GOA88

Yea, I think they do with Giroux. As long as he remains a top player. Salaries are going to continue to escalate. Have to remember, a lot of top players have back diving contracts that lowered their cap hits. Weber is making 14M this upcoming season, same for last season. But his cap hit is below 8, due to how it's structured. It's not possible to do that anymore. So really have to compare salaries, and not cap hits. Along with when deals were signed.

Even though it was against us, can't beat the Rupp -> Shelley "irrelevant", and Richards -> Tostito "fantasy camp" chirps.

The Richards one seemed to land, visibly, on Sestitov. That was a good one.

Rupp calling Shelley irrelevant? Pots and kettles there.

The Doughty one made me chuckle just because of how incredulous that Doughty sounded at Maroon even being in the league.

Haha yeah, the chirp was kind of meh, but it was hilarious that Maroon had no comeback at all.

Richards/Sestito... when the other team's finesse 1C can get under the skin of your agitator/enforcer, you know it's time to move on from the guy, lol.

He would always have his head up when he took a slap shot. His ability to get the puck through traffic was ridiculous

The Shelley Sandwich!

Shelley should just run with it out in Columbus (where he now works) and open up a meatball sandwich stand in the arena that calls them "Shelley Sandwiches".

Pronger was amazing.
One of the things he did that impressed me was sometimes he had the puck in the D zone with no option to pass or skate it out. He'd just take a slapper and it would end up on goal, no matter if he was 40 or 80 feet away from the other goal.

- Marc D

Pronger was a world changer. Having a Dman like that changes everything.

If Pronger was a 25 year old in the league right now, there isn't a player on the team i wouldn't trade to get him.

Ha! Forty or eighty feet, I used to love when he'd do that from the top of his own circles. That's more like 140-150 feet. He'd never miss either. I still can't figure out why other D men don't do that, it's a brilliant play.

The other thing Pronger used to do was when going back in his own zone for a loose puck, that one forechecker on his tail would be gaining, but Pronger would always use his body and the minimum amount of speed to get to the puck and make the play. He was damn fun to watch he really was.

Kudos to the Flyers HOF inductees, especially Lindros. Still the best player I've ever seen on a game in/game out basis and a hero for his stance on concussions. Well deserved.

Shelley should wait until Hartsy's production begins to dry up in Columbus and then open up the stand and name it after him -- Hartsy Hoags -- look who's the meatball now.
