We still need to unload a contract in order to sign Hayes, other than that I agree we're looking at the team heading into camp and until Duclair makes the team - KreiderBomb
Actually I think we're only at 47, but thats with moore, kristo, and borque unsigned. Maybe if we get hayes we rescind our offer to borque? |

Read: Ryan McDonagh and him being the Rangers Drew Doughty
August 6th, 2014 11:36 am
Before the Stanley Cup Final started, LA coach Darryl Sutter said that Ryan McDonagh is to the Rangers what Drew Doughty is to the Kings. (via the NHL)
He said that the Kings were talking about McDonagh as much as the Rangers were probably talking about Doughty.
Wayne Gretzky said that McDonagh and Doughty are different kinds of players and that McDonagh can do a lot of special things on the ice but Doughty reminds him a lot of Brian Leetch. (CBC)
Doughty had 5 goals and 13 assists in 26 playoff games, averaging 28:45 per game.
McDonagh had 4 goals and 13 assists in 25 playoff games, averaging 26:48 per game.
During the Rangers series against Montreal, Danny Briere said “Ryan McDonagh is a great defenseman but I’ve never seen a guy slash this much since Chris Pronger.” (MAG)
When asked to comment on that, Alain Vigneault said (via the NHL) “You can make what you want of it. Ryan McDonagh plays the game in an honorable way. He’s one of the best defensemen in the league in my estimation. The Habs can have their own view.”
Doughty:
27:48 per game in the regular season
6th in Norris voting in 2014, with 8 first place votes, 6 second place votes, 17 third place, 18 fourth place and 23 5th place.
Signed for five more years with a cap hit of $7 million.
McDonagh:
25:29 in the regular season
8th in Norris voting in 2014 with1 second place vote, 4 third place, 5 fourth place and 11 fifth place votes.
Signed for five more years with a cap hit of $4.7 million. |

P.K. Subban, with $25.5M of contract due via signing bonus, trails only Weber $68M, Kane/Toews $44M and Clarkson $27.75M in that category.
One of those names are not like the others. |

Kristo accepted and Moore is a formality, with signing Chris Bourque I can't see Ryan not coming back to play with his brother |

As much as I despise the flyers, I think DZ was a great cheap pickup for them, especially with the recent Timmonen news. Still think DZ has the potential for a solid NHL career |

Yeah, he will find the West Chester, PA hunting grounds in short order. Same ones that Carter and Richards introduced Claude Giroux to. If he gets here early he can still hit the Avalon summer training grounds. Both "target rich" environments! LOL! |

Pretty sure Richards and Carter partied at Temple... but if MDZ starts partying in WC, i may have to take a trip down 202 and go get drunk at Barnaby's with him |

Okay so depending upon what happens with this Hayes kid, do you give Penner a flyer at 1 year/1.1mil? I think he would help out round the bottom 6 and you can slot him up if needed - MeltingPlastic
While I might like the size added to the lineup he is a real plodder. I like that this is a fast team and we don't need anyone clogging up the ice and slowing down our transition game. |

I don't love Corsi. I prefer Fenwick because it considers shot blocking a skill. |
