Still think we have to add tbh ,i dont think Ladd is the forward they want to move any how i believe its Kane

Kane is pricey. Would cost you a blue chip talent, plus, plus.

Lazar, Ceci and a #1 (lottery protected)

Or

Lehner, Stone and a #1 (lottery protected)

You know, everyone bashes Murray for the Bishop/Conacher trade, but I don't think it was the cataclysmic event that the peanut gallery sees it as.

Anderson was never going to be the long-term #1- too old, too injury prone. He was there to insulate Lehner until he was ready. Bishop was a nice acquisition for goaltending security, especially if Lehner's development took a turn for the worse (which it did not).

Conancher, on the other hand, looked like he could be a great complimentary player for top-line guys. And, truthfully, he still could be. He was in a very insulated position with the Bolts- playing with Lecavalier and Pouliot at the time I believe, and was bound to do well. He didn't play with Stammer and Marty all that much (as far as I recall), so despite being insulated, he wasn't being spoon-fed by one sure-fire Hall of Famer, and one potential Hall of Famer. He did his work.

It didn't pan out. Oh well.

What did the Sens lose?
Nothing.

Lehner is still looking to be a stud of a goaltender and Bishop, who would have been traded (most likely) due to not getting a shot at a #1 job, could have easily been dealt for anything as uninspired as Conacher was during his time in Ottawa.

This wasn't the "steal of the century", it was Murray dealing from a position of strength and getting a player who underachieved... in the end, the Sens lost nothing.

I'm not giving up Lazar on deal for Kane. No chance. Lazar projects to be an important piece of our future and brings an attitude the team needs.

You're trading the highest rated Character player from his draft (Lazar) for a guy who has huge character issues. I think this goes beyond talent, you have a Western Boy who's a proven winner and future Captain coming onto a team that needs players who will be loyal to the city and the crest - Lazar is that.

I think it's a fair trade.

Evander Kane is still out there - he's right in Ottawa's wheel house, perfect age, LW, long term contract at a decent cap hit, Eastern Conference and we have a ton of young players to trade. Also, it was rumoured Andrew Ladd was on the block

Ott: Ladd
Winn: Greening, Puempel

Mac - Turris - Ryan
Ladd - Zibby - Chiasson
9MM - Legwand - Stone
Condra - Smith - Neil

Am I the only one who'd rather see them try to acquire Bogosian from Winnipeg? I like Kane well enough (in fact, my Vancouver Giants jersey has his name/number) - but a young RH defenceman with two-way ability, good offensive upside, and who's signed long-term strikes me as a more valuable commodity to this Senators team, especially given the number of young forwards in their system.

Winnipeg wont.

I think Lazar has potential to be a great player, but he hasn't played a single game in the NHL yet. And then throw in Greening who is someone everyone agrees is terrible.

Bogosian would be untouchable unfortunately. Him and Trouba will be a 1-2 punch for Winnipeg just like Keith-Seabrook are for Chicago. I would love to have him, a fellow Armenian on this team would be special, but I think the reality is it will never happen.

Look what we got for Spezza, that's not a bad deal at all
- tuna99

This is what F**king pisses me off .... F**king jordan staal was a UFA when he got traded at the draft in Pittsburgh. This is a F**king joke of a return (no offence Alex Chaisson)

The deal only suits me because Spezza (whose a good guy) couldn't F**king play a good 200 feet game like Turris does.

UFA or not KEEP THE F**KING THING A F**KING SECRET THAT HE ASKED FOR A TRADE AND F**KING TRADE THE GUY FOR SOME DECENT F**KING RETURN

atleast the ducks got F**KING A 1ST

sry to go Bruce B on ya but had to let that out
