I agree he is near worthless in his own end, so you need to get him a defensive centerman to cover for him. Toews and Ovechkin would be pretty sweet.... and it was possible for us to have both those guys and crosby.

I dont think Malkin is much better in the dzone, he just plays center which positionally brings you back further, wingers can cherry pick its harder for centers.

and the Caps didnt miss the playoffs because of OV, they missed because they're terrible.

So you need another 1st round in a draft quality of a center, to cover for Ovi?

That's why I'd never take him on my team, unless he is somehow obtained for a trade where I'm not giving away the team for him. He is never going to be a player you build a team around until he grows up and plays defense.

meh. I'd take him. I just think the caps are poorly constructed.

Anyways my original post was intended to show how good I think Kuznetzov is, and why he wont get traded.

All teams have top end centers, even the caps. I just think Backstrom is the wrong player for OV. Trade Backstrom and Green for the Sedins and you would have one of the best lines in hockey.

I like Backstrom, I think he has tons of talent, he has faded a bit in Wash, Sedins on the other hand are really good at regular season hockey.

I personally would take Malkin over Ovechkin. Backstrom is an excellent C....I wouldn't trade him for Henrik Sedin straight up...I mean he's younger.

Okay, I get it! Now I want him. What would make it equal value? Pouliot + your choice of Sutter, Bennett, Despres, pick.

He'd be an absolute home run with Geno.

Still awake? I keep looking for Sutter news or something else but it's been slow all week.

Btw....looking at the NYI lines, they are pretty stacked:

Nelson-Tavares-Okposo
Grabner-Grabovski-Kulemin
Bailey-Nielsen-Strome
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck

Can we match their depth? I don't know but they don't have Sid and Geno.

Garth Snow is their GM. They automatically lose.

That grabovski line would get eaten alive by either of our top 2. Not worried at all
