Blues don't give up high quality shots. Elliot is a good backup/1B. If he thought he was a starter himself, I'm pretty sure he would have asked for more than 2.5M per - ystoil
Or it wouldnt have taken 3 years for the Blues to willingly hand him the starter job |

Listen, im not saying Lundqvist doesnt play well, he does
BUT, name the last team that NYR went into as big underdogs against that Lundqvist led them past?
LAK this year, BOS last year were heavy favorites and NYR didnt get past them. NJD 3 years ago were actually the underdogs against NYR when they beat them, and they lost in the first round to WSH the year before that, which might have been WSH's best shot to go deep - FourFeathers773
From this past year: Philly, Pitt, Montreal. We were considered the underdog and a first round exit from before the playoffs started. |

No way does he belong in the top 10 - Seacon33
I think he does, a bad run in St Louis doesnt discredit his body of work over the past 3-4 years playing for a really bad buffalo team. I would have him around 8

Can't really argue with this list. The only move I would make is take out Niemi and put Crawford in there. |

If Bishop can make it after playing most of 1 year then yes. - Yeah Boyes
Well, Bishop shouldn't be on the list yet.
Elliott is not a top 10 goalie. It is still up for debate if he even is a starter. He is a very good backup. Top 10 NHL backup. There, he made a list.

How did Luongo and Schneider drop out of the top 5 so fast? Every Canuck fan on this site would have told you they were both up there while they were Canucks. |

I think he's just not been the same goalie he was for the past two years so Right now I'd leave him off. |

Thats simply not true.
NYR were 100% favored over PHI, especially with NY having home ice
PIT was favored but it was marginal after they struggled against Columbus
Montreal was another marginal favorite especially since they just beat BOS, and NYR just beat PIT, lets also not forget MTL was not the favorite at all anymore once Price went down |

Yes, Miller over a couple of guys on that list. Even after his sub par run with the Blues last year. |

Goalies can go from awesome to poop so fast in the NHL we need to see at least 2-3 years of awesomeness before being included in any sort of top 10 lists. I'm looking at you Bishop! |

Even if he had a great year this year as the starter, he won't belong. It takes more than 1great year as a starter, regardless of what JJ thinks. (Bishop) |

Miller is still a good tender, hes in that 8-12 range based on last year and how people rank Bishop and Varlys good seasons. I think Vancouver got a good deal out of him and will be a lot better team this season bc of it |

No one in Philly considered the Flyers that favorite in that series, particularly after they finished behind the Rangers. |

Lundqvist's lack of championships will haunt him but I can't say it's a lack of a killer instinct that has caused this void in his career.
Last year, the Rangers struggled in each of their series victories because they couldn't score on the power play and, in general, were offensively challenged. There are several reasons for this but Lundqvist's 2014 postseason run didn't fall short because of Lundqvist.
The Kings were the better team but it came down to little breaks that determined the series. When three games are decided in overtime it's pretty clear that the series was not as lopsided as many thought it would be, going in, and still many people seem to think after the fact.
Put Henrik on the better team, in last year's final, he has a cup. Quick is very good, there is no denying that, but all things being equal, Lundqvist is the better goalie. |

Sorry, John, but any list of top 10 goalies of all time must include George Hainsworth.
No other goalie has altered the game as much as him. He's the reason they allowed the forward pass. - Atomic Wedgie
Nice job Atomic, was not a tear in my dads eye when this guy passed. It is always good to learn some hockey history. Good post!

Rangers were favorites in only their first series and even that wasn't unanimously determined. |

You can talk all you like about Brodeur having a good defensive team in front of him, but the fact of the matter is that stats show he is the most consistently elite goaltender of all time. The only other goalies in the conversation are Roy and Hasek. |

Lundqvist is an outstanding goalie and has been among the class of the league for pretty much his entire career. It's not always the goalies fault when his team fails to win a title. Sometimes it's just the luck of the matchup. Lundqvist kept the Rangers in every game of the finals. |

Teams win and lose together. There is no one player that causes a team to lose a best of seven series.
There are also no accidents either; the Kings last year were the better team of the two. |

Whats that have to do with how things changed after game 1??
Taking away a teams best player obviously changes the whole scope of the series and how it is won and lost
MTL was cooked once Price went down |
