Be a better option than dan (frank)ing ellis. - Elbows15
There is no good option if Crawford goes down.
Raanta, Carruth, Simpson, Ellis, some other old, almost-minimum-wage has been (or never was) - if Crawford misses the tournament, the Hawks are out in the first round. Unfortunately, the system will not provide a good solution for that.
What they need to be looking for is the best option to give Crawford sufficient rest so he can go into the play-offs in his best condition, mentally and physically - and Q is going to have to play that option without regard to regular season wins and losses. |

I remember people saying that any goalie could play well behind our defense (I never agreed). It's nice to see we've finally moved past that. |

I would expect a older veteran goalie to be signed too. Even if Crawford gets hurt and Raanta is ok as the temporary #1 we'll still need a back-up. Unfortunately there isn't a lot to choose from in the UFA market. - DarthKane
Khoudobin i feel like was an after thought last season but he ended up being ok. Carter freakin Hutton had a nice season last year. Never know what guys can do until they get a chance |

Both of those kids. Crawford wasn't exactly prime material at their age either. The whole league knows Ellis is terrible. Why bother with him. And him playing in Rockford just further limits any possible development that Simpson or Carruth can gain. Goalies are funny. Some develop right away and others take more time. I would rather invest the time in their development than having a hanger on like Elllis. - Elbows15
Might one also say the same of very young puck moving defensemen? |

Surprised to see Howard there. I'd rank him with Mason and Pavalec.

He didn't have a great year statistically but in the previous 2 years he had 11 shutouts and a 2.13 in each of those years. |

ugh work went worse than I thought and now I can't find the eilliott work I did when someone asked before.....
will take more time to answer you JJ....
I do know this... In the playoffs, with the Blues he has a 91.1% save percentage and a 2.16 goals against average. If you exclude the two games where we was definitely injured (could argue to exclude one more but not doing that for this), his numbers improve to 92.8% and 1.76 gaa. Don't read more into that statement than the stats line looks good. More to come later.

Indiana Pacer forward playing for the USA national team.
His shinbone snapped, after a defensive play - gruesome picture on you-tube. |

Whom is going to be the designated fighter: no one, tbd, Johns once he gets here, someone through trade?
Bollig is gone and so too is anyone whom would engage in or answer for his team when rough play caused temper to flare. |

Forget about stats for a minute.
When he has played, there have been so many times where he looks really bad and it has been a great thing that the Blues have limited the number of chances. He has given up some bad goals late, He doesn't give me any confidence going into a series against the Hawks or Kings. We have to badly outplay either team to win. Like a huge margin, and that is asking a lot. |

Not last year.
I don't think Rinne will ever be the goal tender we saw in 10-11-12.
That labral tear will probably lead to other issues. Maybe the worst injury a goalie can have. The chances he fully recovers are slim. That is the risk with committing that sort of money long term. For a budget team like the Preds - already messed with by the OS on Weber - the contract of Rinne will be a killer if he doesn't make it back close to 100%.
Of course, in Europe he has access to blood oxygenation and other treatments not available here so that may make a difference. |
